They walk home from a min-wage job, and every car that goes by and honks can be more $$ in 10 minutes, than they made ALL DAY. I have THE GREATEST ADMIRATION for girls that get clean and get out of the trade. I don't know that I ever could, if I ever sunk that low. And the longer they stay out there, the less likely they'll ever get right. Beatdowns, rape, jail. All become "the cost of doing business" (and staying high).
