Katie is definitely right about the Disney busses, but they usually run every 15-20 minutes (and don't forget they'll have to take it back too, so you're looking at up to an extra hour of their time). If you're not staying at the resort you do need to show I D at the security gate. The easiest thing is just say you're going to eat at so-and-so restaurant.
