The stairs also allow you to exit without going through the lobby again which could raise suspicion in the hotel if there is a steady flow of men going in and out at set intervals. It is easier to get a parking space near the base of a stair well than it is to get near the lobby entrance generally. Sometimes you can enter somewhere other than the lobby but usually you have to at least enter there once. When leaving turn to the staircase closest to where you parked instead of the elevator and you are out of there in a jiffy. If it is a really tall building you can take an elevator to a lower floor then go down the last couple of flights. Periodically a hotel my have the door alarmed. I have had to double back and go to the second or third floor to catch the elevator down back to the lobby to keep from setting off an alarm. That is rare though.

I think that it is better for you and the provider.

Lord have mercy. I have never, ever taken an elevator. Hell, I usually request she prop the outside stairwell door open so as to avoid the main entrance. Big head guys, big head.
