Feel the need to chime in. I have had a couple of different prepaids Sprint, Virgin Mobile and Tracfone. All of them have their pros and cons. Tracfone is the best in my opinion price and reliability and also they are very easy to find the air cards to reload. I pay cash for and usually at the Mom and Pop style stores with no cameras. As we all know there no such thing as being completely off the grid in the hobby. If they want to find you and are willing to put in the man hours they can but for the average hobbyist a prepaid phone updated regularly with a cash paid refill card should be enough. Best of luck.

I use google voice. It free, you get a new number but uses minutes and texts on your phone. I also link it to my mongering email to it so if I get a text or call it will send me an email. The good thing is it has a do not disturb option that turn on when I cannot answer.

Trac phones are only around $20 and you only buy minutes as you need them. Not fancy but effective.

Email can be traced by IP address and it identifies location and type of system used. Just like any cell phones.

I was wondering how you guys typically deal with conversing with a provider to set an apt. I typically try to do it all through a burner email and keep it at that. I don't own a burner phone so use a bogus Hotmail or yahoo email.

Do you ever wonder / worry about the provider getting caught and having a number or email in their contact info? Not that it is a crime to have info in someone's email but if it was setting appts etc, could get messy.

Just food for thought.
