I was just an SA newbie as early as last year but here's what I had success with (2 girls regular, 2 pay per play, and three in queue to replace old ones as time goes by).

0. Have some god damn money. If you don't have an emergency fund of 6 months expenses or don't make 75 k+ a year you need to be getting better at your day job. Don't whine about a freaking $75 monthly fee. Just get better and make more money.
