The City wants more revenue so buildings like Century Center are an easy target. You can have residential and commercial in the building, but most of the units in the tower are classified as residential. When the city reclassifies them as commercial, the tax base quadruples from $3 per $1000 to $12 per $1000.

If you ask me, it is chickenshit, but expect increases in the property tax base because that is the City's main source of revenue. With costs for rail spiraling out of control, it is only going to get worse.
