Laura was wearing black pants and shirt this morning, so that's probably who you saw as well. She seemed hesitant about making eye contact. I drove around the block twice before she got in. There was another guy in a green suv trying to pick her up too so decided to say something to her. I actually stopped curbside, rolled down my window and called her over to my car. I told her a joke to put her at ease. She laughed pretty hard for a bit, but finally got in the car and away we went. I'll definitely pick her up again if I see her out. She is one of my favorite (top three) street walkers here already.

Thanks for the info, but I think that issue is still ambiguous at best. When entering Adams Lane from Bishop Street, a driving monger passes two signs that both clearly say "NO Access Onto Hotel Street". Then there's a sign at the juncture of Adams Lane and Hotel Street that prohibits a right turn, but doesn't specifically authorize a left turn (onto the traffic lane that's on the other side of the roadway). So to help avoid any potential contact with the police during pussy patrols, personally I won't be making any turns onto Hotel Street from Adams Lane (smile).

Agreed, it's not worth the risk for mongering purposes. I've been using Adams Lane twice daily for 3 decades (hitting the stop-sign in front and behind motorcycle LE who also use that route) but that's during "acceptable hours". During mongering hours, LE is just looking for an excuse pull folks over. Hitting Adams Lane leaves mongers with either the iffy move of turning onto S. Hotel or the illegal move of backing up the wrong way on a one-way street and then backing into one-way Bishop St traffic.

I completely agree w / Brother Redneck. Totally not worth the risk for with no apparent recent provider options anyway. Good call! Just sayin. .

Why they have to hold such God awful hours.

Some downtown providers have said that those early morning hours are usually productive for them because of guys who like to monger before going to work.

DT Debbie was out early this morning. Have t heard a siting of her for along time. She was on the corner near stoplite behind zips.

She was also available in the predawn darkness on Wednesday morning, sitting in a car on the mauka side of North Kukui Street in front of Borthwick Mortuary. If mongers don't see her standing outside on the sidewalk, she may occasionally be found sitting inside a car on the mauka side of North Kukui Street near the Maunakea Street intersection.

Minor respectful correction. Haw'and Telcom, Remington College, deliveries, and pickup / dropoff traffic for the surrounding buildings do outlet onto Adams Lane and non-bus / police traffic can both enter from Bishop Street and exit onto South Hotel Street BUT you can ONLY turn left (Diamond Head bound) on S. Hotel AND go straight through Alakea to an eventual right turn on Richards Street.
