This may not be your situation, there have been instances where girl gets into your car, asks you to drive to a certain point. Then gets on walkie talkie with "officer" so and so. Identifies herself as a cop and lectures you about the risks you are taking. Std, injury / death, reputation, jail. She asks about your family and lays on the guilt trip before threatening jail. Then the hustle starts. Pay her $x to not go to jail. This happened to me when I was more naive about 25 years ago.

I swear all the SW's named Amber are nuts. The Amber I posted about on Conkling in ripoffs says she loves me one minute and to stay away from her the next. Recently even tried to set me up and left me no choice but to defend my self. Beware she's back out there and clean atm. This one though I swear the better she is doing the crazier she gets. I picked up a bottle threw it at her and she ducks her head right into it and it shattered and there's a small trickle of blood. I regret this I wasn't thinking right and I threw it at her chest but she deserved it anyway.

Sounds like you've found a solution already. Talk to the SW that you know and ask who is who. I do it all the time.
