Has anyone stopped to do the math? Here's a sobering thought. The average American person makes 50 k a year. Now take a Chinese immigrant legal or not to the United states or not has to work. They have to pay whatever debts brought them here.

Now 60 for one hour massage. Let's say the house takes 40 the girl gets 20. Most these girls do work from 10 in the morning until 9 at night. Maybe they do 6 to 10 customers a day For 6 days a week. If everyone pays the minimum tip of 40 plus the 20 they get for the massage that's a minimum of 360 or at most 600 per day. Now multiply that times 6 days a week 52 weeks a year and you end up with between 102 k to 186 k per year. Do you make that much?. Now you tell me where else these girls can find work that will pay this when most can't read or write english. I laugh every time someone posts about these girls being victims. They aren't. No one needs to force these girls to do this work. They do it for the money. Very very very good money. They aren't aaddled with the American sexual guilt we all grew up with. They grew up with a guilt of a different kind. They grew up in a culture where the police were useless and the government can be bought. A culture where the only thing that matters is how much money you have. These girls didn't come from middle America with nothing to worry about. They grew up in crowded cities where their mom or dad did WHATEVER they had to to survive. They grew up in a way we will never understand. Something we as Americans CANNOT understand. There is no shame in what they do. They are making money and we are getting pleasure. There is no victim here. If there were to be a victim I would argue that it is us making 50 k a year and giving it to a girl who for 40 dollars can make us feel like a king. They're happy we are happy I fail to see the problem. The problem is that in order to keep prosecuting this victimless crime they need to sway to public opinion. They need to make us out to be tirentes feeding on the helpless immigrant women brought here illegally for our pleasure. I am sure in some corner of the world this problem exists. I hate to burst your bubble but you are way off base with your numbers and your rational.

I have personally known a number of massage girls outside of their work.

1. I would say they make closer to $800 to $1,000 per week. Good money but they are working 11 hour days in a job that is very demanding physically. You try giving 5-7 one hour massage per day. While on the surface that seems like a lot per year they often only work a few weeks at a time then need a long break and need to find a new place to work.

2. You assume that these girls want to be there. Most of these girls while not being forced to work feel they have no other choice because of their English skills. Many of these girls send money back to their country or to there family in other states. It is Asian culture to take care of there parents.

3. Also Asian culture does not promote HE this is an American thing. Just because prostitution and other sex type businesses are common in other countries doesn't mean all the girls enjoy or even want to be doing this work.

4. I enjoy a good Asian massage and have never refused a HE but if the girl doesn't doesn't do it I never push for it. Unlike many on this board who get pissed or try and push for more.

THE BUSINESS:

Have a game plan for your business. When do you want to stop escorting? Set an end date. Establish a savings account with a financial goal. Revisit your goals on a regular basis.

Do your research! A popular read is "The Internet Escorts Guide" by Amanda Brooks, but there are many books out there. I highly recommend "Escort Aristocracy" by Erin Ann Meyer.

If you look at the work as a hustle, you will have a hard time maintaining regular clients and only attract hagglers. If you approach the work like a business, your clients will respect you as a businesswoman and come back for more.

Get a website. It looks professional and increases your credibility. Don't use those ugly escortsite or rare-escort templates. Cuties-tools, Highheel design, and Moonfruit all have very reasonable rates.

You should have a website with professional pictures, regardless of what you charge. It shows you care about your business. If you want to attract a classier client base, your pictures should be tasteful, flattering poses in a variety of outfits. Leave the full nude, spread eagle stuff to the porn stars; they do it better anyway. If you can't afford a photographer, check out modeling websites for photogs who will work for trade. Or grab any digital camera and ask a friend to photograph you in bright, natural light.

Charge what you charge and leave it be. Don't know what to charge? Look up ladies in your city who are your age, body type, hair color, race & education level. Note what they charge and match it. You don't need to run specials to get clientele. Discounts should be for the loyal clients. Not the cheapskates.

Pay your taxes. The IRS doesn't care how you make a living. They just want a cut of the action.

THE WORK:

All clients have an expiration date. Don't assume they will be around forever. Don't demand tips. Treat them with respect!

Don't let a client push your personal boundaries. If he threatens you for not going out of your comfort zone. Politely end the date. If he asks too personal of a question. Lie. They don't care what you tell them, they just want the experience of intimacy. These men are not your friends- no matter how sweet and kind they may be.

Escorting can fun; going to places you've never been, getting expensive presents. However, escorting can also be socially isolating, messy, frustrating and boring.

NEVER, EVER work on days when you are feeling vulnerable, angry or depressed. You give so much to your clients already. No need to give them your last bit of energy / sanity.

SAFETY:

Prostitution is illegal in most US states. No matter where you are on the ladder of sex work, it is foolish to openly advertise sex acts for money. Buzzwords in your advertising like "GFE" "greek" "CBJ" "BBBJ" do not fool police and looks tacky.

Putting a "I'm not a hooker" disclaimer on your site / ads screams "Actually, I'm a hooker. " Furthermore, calling your fees a "donation," "diamonds," "kisses," or any other childish name screams, "I'm a cheap (and stupid) hooker. " If you're not a hooker, don't advertise like one!

Besides, what will you do if a client shows up with 250 yellow roses? Awkward.

If an inquirer ask about your sex acts, "menu" or acronyms, don't answer the question. Tell them you don't know what they are talking about and end the conversation. If he is in the room with you and pushes the question, end contact, leave, ask him to leave. PERIOD.

Have a lawyer on retainer and pick his brain for intel. You never know what could happen.

Never see a client who is rude, pushy, demanding or asks for discounts the first time they contact you. It's asking for trouble.

Give thought to where your boundaries lay. Your boundaries will adjust as you get more comfortable with your escort persona, but remain true to them. You must be able to walk away from this business with your mental & physical health intact!

If you aren't screening your clients before meeting them, you are taking a big safety risk. Why screen? Because the more you know about a client, the less likely he is to misbehave. You also are better equipped you if he robs or attacks you. If you discover something unnerving about him. Pass. If you don't feel like dealing with the screening headache. Get a booker.

Mark, this is an excellent business plan, and would work for many different enterprizes. I have no doubt you run a successful entity and aplaud you for the clear informitive guide. So many in this trade think a few erotic poses with a cell phone in the mirror or a shot of yhem sticking thier cheeks out will entice an intelligent serious clientele. Not so, quite the opposite.
