Perfume and smoking can be important to ask about in advance. If they mind being asked, then fuggetabout it. A provider who wants to see the respectable businessman or similar types should know better. Even single guys don't want to bring an added odor home, be it a good one or a bad one. For married guys, that's an even greater concern.
