Whenever you're surfing for mongering, use private mode in your browser. 1) it doesn't track your history 2) it doesn't keep you logged into things like google, gmail, youtube, etc. After you quit your browsing session.

You can also use https://duckduckgo.com/ instead of google. They don't track your search history and sell it off to third party marketing companies like google does.

I use Yahoo for email. For searching, as JoJo68 mentioned, duckduckgo is good. Another good one is ixquick.com If you use firefox for browsing, install an add on for it called Betterprivacy. It's very easy to use. It not only gets rid of cookies but also LSO's (locally stored objects) also known as flash cookies. I have mine set to delete everything when I close Firefox.
