Posts: 844What the three escorts did was take their argument for legalization
To the Canadian supreme court using the constitution I suppose. It's our right to use our bodies as we see fit, I'm pretty sure which is supported by the constitution. Is the government allowed to take ownership of our bodies? If a woman can have an abortion she should be able to sell her body as well, right? Isn't it the same thing? Also there is no victim. Prostitution is a victimless crime if it's between consenting adults. How could the supreme court argue. Don't they have to back up the criminalizing of prostitution with the constitution as a guide? What argument could they use? Obviously there's a difference between human trafficking and sex between consenting adults. After all it's not illegal to be a **** right? What's the difference when there's money involved? What argument could they use to keep sex work criminalized? I'd like your thoughts and opinions please. Isn't this what gay people did to gain the right to be able to marry and to be treated equally and fairly? Isn't it the same thing? It's a lame law and it doesn't make one bit of sense.

Posts: 844Another interesting topic. I want some input from you guys
An escort friend of mine. Practically the only one I've met that seems to be emotionally stable LOL. Anyway she called me yesterday. This is her question and dilemma. She has a client who she likes and he likes her as well. She is considering dating him! What do all of you think about this. Do you think it can work? Also have any of you dated an escort, where you met them as a client? What are your experiences?

I went there this morning as they index and have search capability second to none. Navigating to the root of the domain, there is an ominous FBI / IRS warning of seizure. You may not want to go there lest your address is logged in this 1984 police state. This article screenshots their new homepage.

As much as I'd like to see it legalized it's just not going to happen.
Even should someone get it on a ballot & it passed, the people in power will repeal it.
It happened on the bottle bill & seat belt law, & though at this point youy can't be stopped for not wearing a seatbelt I believe that will change soon.
Even though the people of the commonwealth stated no, both were trashed by the beacon hill politicians & people with the kowledge & power to change laws basically said fuck you to the poeple by their actions.
I'm not even touching on the marijuana cannabis snafu.
Does anyone really think that our next governor Martha Mary Coakley (gawd I hope not) who was the major driving force & proponent behind the human trafficking law would even consider legalizing or even decriminalizing sex work...not on your life.
BTW NoRush Mass is a liberal state when did that happen?

It's not possible to do it that way? I was just curious. I think that the law infringes on our civil liberties.

Posts: 1701They might be willing to donate money, but I doubt very much about donating their time. Anyone here interested in holding a sign at the place where you vote, reading "LEGALIZE PROSTITUTION" ? LOL.

A few years back they managed to get something like this on the ballot in San Francisco. It didn't do well.

In certain ways, I think SF is even more liberal than Mass. I don't see it having a better chance here.
Too bad.

Posts: 818Right, it would not be a popular topic for politicians to back. Barney Frank would support legalized prostitution (and has already said he sees nothing wrong with it). But you'd also have to change the minds of the public. That would be the first step. And the public would have to believe that crimilized prostitution does more harm than legalized.

Posts: 792Get it on the ballot
One way to change things is to get the question placed on the ballot for voters to vote on it. Not sure of the details but it would be by petition as I doubt you would find any politician to promote it. Bring back Barny Frank?

You would need to change the laws that we have to legalize it.

I did not say I was duped by the employees at NMS, I said I was duped because of all the positive reviews. Based on the reviews I thought that NMS would be a step above the usual HJ spa, but its not.

I wonder how many hobbyists and / or escorts would donate for such a cause and is it feasible?

Posts: 844I was wondering about something
If a lawyer who's also a hobbyist would possibly take on the legalization or decriminalization of sex work. What would that involve exactly?
