Wow...haven't been around for awhile and noticed this thread. So WTF has happened in the few months since I've been a regular here. Hoy shit. But even though I wasn't asked I will tell you that HAH has been once of the best and most trusted gents on this forum. He has helped me out on numerous occasions and even bought me a drink or two. I have to go with HAH on this one, his post didn't seemed to be pointed at anyone in particular. He said after he posted the comment about it being someone else that gave the picture tip, he got a PM and someone took the thing about the CL girl and ran an ad trying to bait the waters. I check in over here at the T-Dome once in awhile for a laugh, but it seems the conversation has gotten serious. I have a few thoughts concerning some things I've read the past few days.

It is theoretically possible to get HIV from a BBBJ, but realistically it is not a concern. There are thousands of examples of couples (gay and straight) where one is HIV+ and the other HIV- and oral sex w / o condoms is done routinely without transmission of the virus. You are not at a risk for HIV through getting a BBBJ. Givers of oral sex (cunny lick or BJ) are at a higher risk, but is still considered very low risk. Other STI's are a def possibility of course, including my main fear The Herpes.

The CDC is a poor source to use for actual real world facts and current statistics, IMO. They 'tow the gov't line' and will give you their official stance on the matter of HIV transmission. If you want the most up to date info, look elsewhere. E.g. You Cal San Fran Med Site, articles and papers by H. Hunter Handsfield, M.the who knows more about STI's than just about anyone alive.

It was stated recently that the only people that get their names in the paper for solicitation are the ones that plead or are found guily. 1000% wrong! There are many newspaper articles where people's names are routinely given and they have been only charged with the crime. They were arrested and within 72 hours their names are in the paper. At least that's the way it is up here in Mass and I seriously doubt Rhody has any type of laws protecting people accused of soliciting.

From things I've read, the chance of contracting HIV from receiving a BBBJ is so low as to be virtually non-existent, UNLESS you both have some sort of open sores / cuts on the areas making contact. There just isn't sufficient concentration of the virus in saliva alone. BBFS, in terms of HIV, is obviously riskier, but still pretty low risk for the male unless, once again, there's an open wound of some sort involved.

Of course, I'm not a doctor, and there's a lot of conflicting information out there. Safety is always the best policy, but we're assuming a certain amount of risk engaging in this hobby to begin with. Like you said, in the end, everyone has to decide for themselves what level of risk they're willing to accept. But there's no sense judging other mongers for their activities. I don't make a habit of engaging in BBFS, but I'd be lying if I said I've never done it on certain occasions when the option was presented to me (sometimes the little head just takes over, you know?).
