Posts: 2143Yea, this all maybe true on the books but not in the real life. Federal court hardly ever gets involved with copyrights unless the copyright infringement is significant enough for them to take notice, plus you'd have to prove real commercial loss based on your previous gains and not in 100's of dollars but rather at least in 10's of thousands. And nobody's going to jail because somebody's picture's been lifted unless your names are Tom or Giselle or something of that rank, you can take that to the bank. If for example I make a drawing and post it on the web and you lift it and post it on your website unless I can prove that you're infringing on my commerce (BTW, for that I already need to have a commercial history which I must present in court) the case will be quickly thrown out or I'll be suggested to take to small claims and you'll be basically free to do whatever you want.

Posts: 2646You're confusing statutory damages vs actual damages, US copyright law allows for both (17 USC § 504). Attorney fees, and filing costs, would also be added to damages. As copyright infringement is a federal crime, I can file in my home state, and the defendant will have to come here to appear in court. You do have a valid point in tracking down the offender though, and collecting from someone who likely has no verifiable source of income would be problematic. But if they ever should get a legal job, collecting becomes easier. There is also the slight possibility they may get jail time if they can't pay. The best chance of actually collecting money would be in going after the websites which host the images if they should ignore my DMCA Notice of Infringement, but I've never had one fail to remove the images in under 24 hours. In fact most remove the images in under an hour, they know better than to risk it.

Well majority of those borrowers are pretty hard find and if you do find them, they usually hardly have $750 to their name let alone $30,000. Majority of the time all of this image lifting is not being pursued unless "the lifter" himself is of some notoriety. But anyone of significance would not bother to just lift somebody images without asking for author's permission beforehand anyway.

Pre-trial agreements, trials and all that jazz. Sorry, but it hardly ever gets to that, not on that level. The most authors would do is to send an e-mail or message asking the lifter to take the image down or provide a reference to its author. Furthermore 99% of it is interstate, and if I live in NY and I lift your image for my purposes you'd have to go to NY to initiate legal action and it just wouldn't be worth it to you. I mean you can initiate it here, and you may even win but it's a 100% unenforceable. But even if you do decide to go to NY and sue me, you'd have to prove that you "lost that much money" as a result of me posting your image somewhere else to get anything out of me and good luck with doing that. Otherwise the most you could get is a court order ordering me to take the image down.
Now, if I live in New York, you may still decide to go through all such hustle for basically not much of the reward but if I live in California I don't think so. And if let's say, the site leads to anywhere across the border, including even our neighbor to the North, you'd really be ill-advice to do anything besides writing to the borrower and asking him to be cool about it and at least give you a credit for the image.

I was in high school and I was a pothead and always had a lot of weed. I knew this girl who smoked and she wasnt hot but she was cool. She hit me up to order some and she told me her spot so I could make the deal. She hops in my car and says she has no money but she's desperate for pot and she will give me the money next week. I say no and she says she will give me head for it. I pull over and she does it and I give her the bag and she leaves. About a week later this girls best friend who I knew but we never talked calls me and asks if I can sell her some bud. I tell her 30 dollars and she says she has no money but her friend told her what she did for it. This girl is no lie a perfect 10 with humongous boobs. I pick her up just like the other girl and she goes to town and I give her a little extra and drop her off.

Posts: 3021Girls from Providence are better at giving BBJ's than girls from Boston. On my strolls through Roxbury, Dorchester and at times Mattapan, The BSWs are horrible when it comes to giving "dome". I've been strolling and cruising Boston's streets for nearly 27 years and I have YET to come across a BSW that can deepthroat. I am dead serious. I was in Providence a week ago and I got great head from a BSW there. Her BBJ skills were a hell of a lot better then the BSWs in Boston. Anyway, I'm just blowing a bit of steam here. Boston BSW's SUCK! (no pun intended) when it comes to giving blowjobs. I may be wrong, who knows.
I understand my rant is all over the place, sorry fellas. Just letting off some steam.

Posts: 2143Thanks Fuhgetaboudit. Sending PM to yourself is a good idea. As for the later, no, it doesn't get saved in Sent Items folder if it hasn't been send.

I simply copy/paste the text and change the name of recipient and send it to myself, then copy / paste from my own PM later when the User has an open mailbox again.
Also, below your PM text box, there is a Misc Options section, and I checkoff the Save Copy of sent emails in my own Sent Box. I cannot recall whether a PM gets sent there if someone's email is full though.

Just send your message to yourself as a PM. Then try again later with a copy of it.

Posts: 2143Is it possible to save a draft in USG PM?
You know how it is, sometimes you PM somebody but their Inbox is full. So far I couldn't find a way to save draft so I can PM it later when they clear out some space.
There is some sort of auto-save feature there, but I'm yet to figure out how it works. Sometimes it just appears in the lower left corner of a the new message asking you if you want to "restore after-saved message" and if you click on it, it restores either whole or part of your earlier PMs that it somehow got into its memory. How and why is still a mystery to me.
Anyone knows what's the secret here and if there is a way to save a draft of your PM?

Posts: 2646Imgur doesn't require you to set up an account. Just upload the pics, and they give you a link. Nothing to trace back to you. You do also have the option of creating an account, but it's not required.

Depending on the place you stay they may require ID or even plate number on registration card. Some places accept cash with no questions asked, however with things nowadays they want to cover their assets and ask for the minimum info.

Posts: 2646Technically no, but you can upload the pics to one of the many free image hosting sites (I prefer imgur) , and just send the link by pm.
