The lady understood the value of marketing (which if I remember right was what her BA was in) and knew the value of having "Rated #1 on." in the header on her site.

Which in business we refer to as creating her brand.

I met her several times socially, but never opted to meet even though I had a "coupon" for 1 appointment of multiple hours at $200 / hr + 1 hr free with no expiration date that I received when she was helping Sara raise money to support the old escortamerica board (you got the coupon if you donated $100 to the board). For me there was nothing about CK that really made her stand out compared to her peers at the time unlike say Taylor Fox, Nikki Spence or Sara Jade so this was purely a matter of personal preference.

Strangely enough until I came across the screen saver that I built for CK back in 2003 about a month ago I hadn't even thought about her in years.

Fully agree and there's an equally important flip side."what a guy chooses to pay is his own business". To extend DN's metaphor a little, why do I care if some guy is willing to pay for a Lamborghini. I'm not because it's just not a good value to me. It's only raising prices if you spend your time negotiating with the little head instead of the big head. If it's not a value, don't buy it. Move on to the next place where you might find a value.

My friend. I know he overpays some provider partners but to him they're a good value even at the slightly higher price. For whatever reason. Location, ambiance, they remind him of an old high school girlfriend, or that tickle his nutsack with a feather while calling him "stallion". For whatever reason, those providers are a value to him.

You might not think they're worth the price. Who cares?

They may not charge you the same price he pays, they may charge you less. Who cares?

There are some providers who my friend has decided to not see because the value isn't obvious. Their prices seem high to him. They're not bad providers and they're not bad people, they're just not good providers FOR HIM. He's talked to several of them and they're smart women who run a good business and have an appropriately positive opinion of their worth in this area. My friend thinks they might be a little high. So what. If you can't pay the toll, don't drive the road.

No hard feelings. They're still good people and for many mongers, they may be perfect provider partners.

But com'on guys, don't slam a potential provider partner because she has built a business you can't afford. That's just un-American. LOL.
