I know the conversation has shifted but I still wanted to address vulnerable areas that all SDs should secure. We've touched on this subject quite a few times, but it will be good to go over it again for some of the new members and a reminder for the old ones. Given the situation that recently happened to BigTigger, we should be mindful of our vulnerabilities and soft targets that psycho and desperate SBs will exploit.

Vulnerable Targets to your Real Name

Driver's license. This is obvious, but it can get tricky if you need your I'd to buy alcohol or certain credit purchases. So on your date, try to avoid activities / situations where you might have to present your I'd in front of the SB. And if you must carry your I'd on you, flip your I'd and hide it behind a random gift card and NEVER leave your wallet unattended.

Credit cards. Again obvious, and like the I'd anticipate where you might have to use your CC. Try to use a gift card if possible or use cash. If you must use your real CC, never use it in front of the SB and never leave it unattended.

Polite Waiters and Cashiers. This is a side effect of using a CC. A polite waiter may say,"Thank you Mr. Smith!" and all of a sudden your last name is exposed. Again, this is why cash is king.

Receipts . Receipts from CC purchases often contain your real name. You're probably seeing a pattern why Credit Cards are pretty much a SDs worse enemy when trying to conceal your identity. They just open up a whole can of worms. Also, make sure you clean your car of receipts from before your date. Your identity could get exposed from a stray receipt from when you went to the grocery store last week.

Hotel bills. Particularly if you're staying in a somewhat nice hotel, they require you to provide your real name and identification. Especially with overnighters you have to be careful that the SB doesn't see the hotel bill lying around (or in the TV!) and doesn't talk to the front desk. I honestly would like to know how to secure hotel visits because I honestly don't know the best way and it's why I tend to stay in low-end hotels that make it easier to be anonymous, but the girls aren't exactly thrilled to be there. So I'd love to hear some input on protecting your identity at decent and highend hotels.

Vulnerable Targets to your Address

Sometimes knowing someone's real name can easily lead to an address if they have an unusual name. But in many cases simply knowing your real name isn't enough for a SB to find your address. Especially if you never tell the exact city you leave in. I always tell the SBs I live in a city a few towns over from where I actually live. This is usually enough to slowdown a "curious" SB. But it's not enough to stop a psycho / scammer SB, so it's important to secure these targets:

Car insurance and registration. This gets overlooked a lot but this is one of the prime targets for a SB to find out your real name and address. So put your insurance, registration, and all CCs in a LOCKED arm-rest or gloved compartment. If you don't have one which has locks, then put these items in your trunk hidden by your spare tire and jack. A girl left unattended will snoop through compartments, and visors. And if you hide them under your seat, they could slide out.

Car GPS. If your car has a GPS, make sure you somehow hide or disable any sensitive saved addresses. She could inadvertently see your home or family member's address when you're using the GPS to find the dinner location for the date.

Facebook. If the SB finds out your real name, then she might be able to use Facebook to find out the city you live in, wife's name, workplace and etc. If you're active on Facebook, you should change your profile to a picture that doesn't contain your face. This way she won't recognize you in the search results.

Business Cards. Make sure you clear your wallet of not only your business cards but business cards of your close associates. You don't want a psycho SB contacting them to get to you.

Smart Phone. Some of us use our regular smartsphone (with GV) instead of a specific bat phone. If you do this, then you must make sure you have the screen set to lock after a minute of inactivity. This way the SB can't thumb through your contacts and addresses.

Opposition Research

Sometimes a best defense is a good offense. Try to find out her real identity as well and even run a background check if it's someone you see regularly. This way if she starts stepping out of line, you can warn her that you know XYZ about her. SDs usually have way more to lose than a SB from exposure, but there's still a stigma with young women seeing much older men (especially for money!) and if she has a boyfriend / husband / lives with mom then she probably would not want the relationship known.

Having said all of that. Unlike some, I actually will partially break my cover (my real name) to a SB I trust. Mainly because if you see someone long enough and do a variety of activities, you're bound to slip up on something. It's pretty much inevitable. So I try to gather as much intel as possible early on, so there's mutually assured destruction with long-term SBs. However with short-term and "hook-up" SBs, I NEVER break cover and always secure soft targets. It's why I honestly get just exhausted seeing multiple SBs, it's a lot of work. Because if you get lazy or sloppy, you'll get burned.

I have never reached that exalted plain, perhaps the mecca of Sugar pursuits. A Girlfriend! Gadzooks!

I have seen many fine young ladies, and some not so fine, but nary a one has ever returned my gift and offered to give it up for naught. I have never asked either, but there are a few who I think would have seen me had I but asked.

It might be a little risky transcending that fine line between an employee bound by the code of ethics we live by in this hobby (I give you X, you therefore give me Y) and a freehold woman. These contracts are oral if you will, pun intended. The SB then becomes a GF with expectations that could be awkward for the party of the first part, as my attorney friends are won't to say. SD suddenly becomes husband material with financial as well as emotional gifts to give.

Has anyone had one of these moments? Free is always good but did it come with a price?

Hi Fellas.

I've PM'd with a couple of seniors on here (F Scott can vouch for me, TDog 69, JimmyJams, RichmondDude, Virginia Guy). Used to be an SM, but had a bad experience where I had to get off the site. Perhaps I am overly charming and young women like me. No, that's not it. 1. I think she went into my armrest and grabbed a business card. (rookie mistake on my part)

2. She then used that information along with Google to pretty much find a lot of public information on me and my family. Phone number "was" listed, certain web pages were open with work / family information.

3. I can't get into all the detail, but she gave me a few days to accept her offer. During that time, I informed the Mrs, that I had a weird conversation with someone calling asking for business advice and who eventually then tried to extort money from "us" and be on the lookout, since her work location was easy to find on the Internet.

There is more to it, but that is what I'm comfortable sharing.

It seems like you have discovered the delights of the Bowl and are on your way! Keep in mind, there will be bumps along the way, and many little fish who don't rise to your fly, or spit the hook before you can land them, but all in all, it is a wonderful hobby.
