I assume you guys are talking about putting these apps on your primary phone. Doesn't that raise red flags at home? My I phone's history and apps are completely accessable via I Cloud. And it would be more suspicious to deny access and change that than to get a different phone. At least with a burner phone, you can keep it COMPLETELY separated, electronically and physically. I've got a cheapy but it stays at work.

There in lies your first problem. Never ever use the cloud. It can be hacked so easy its not even funny. And I should know I'm in IT and if you ever want to be safe never put any information in the cloud you don't want God and everyone to look at.

The text plus that metlife put us on to seems to be a little better. The burner app requires you to receive text? Text plus is text or calls, but you don't have the ability to constantly be able to cycle through numbers though you can turn off incoming calls. It is cheap too. The app is free and I paid something like a buck for 40 minutes/

You can get as many burner numbers as you are willing to pay for.

When you are finished using a number, you "burn" it and the number goes away.

Hey Metlife, it gets better. I found under the account that it will let you change your number free one time so I got a local number. Not only that but you can also turn OFF incoming calls so they can't call you. This is a nice app. Perfect! Everybody here with a smart phone should get it.

I bought 30 minutes for. 99 so that is reasonable. How did you get another number? When I set it up it assigned one. Can you get a local number through the app itself or do you have to call them or something?

If you want mins to call its only a dollar or two for 90 mins of talk time. This is my ATF. I wasnt too happy with the 1st number they gave me cause it was a Florida number, but I payed a little bit to get a local number to make it seem more real to the providers

Text plus seems to work great for me. You can call and text from the app and if you are married just delete the app when you get home and when you redownload it it will still have previous messages and call logs.

You have to be careful with email too. The can and will track email, just because you have an alias and a free email acct don't think they can't track it back to you.

I do not contact any providers by email, unfortunately I learned the hard way when my ATF got popped. She had emailed me out of the blue trying to set up a time, leo had been watching her and low and behold they called me at home.

If you get contacted at home because of a phone call or email that is harassment even if done by law enforcement. All they are trying to do is to get you to admit to something so they can charge you. If they do this tell them if they call or email you with out a warrent to piss off. Nothing they can do.
