You probably should of just kept your "hell yeah" to yourself. And people DO understand when things come up. Its just when you don't have the decency to let someone know that it becomes an issue. And "most likely isn't a intentional standup" is surely a poor choice of words to post in defending your no-shows. In no circumstances should it be intentional at all! You need to realize that those "serious grudges" are not the result of you not being able to keep an appointment, but instead are a product of you failing to do so without so much as a courtesy call or text. And, unless you are lying on a hospital bed on the verge of near death, I see no reason why that would be an issue for you. So what do you say, how about sharing some of that "mad respect" towards the other mongers (not me) who actually take an interest in seeing you?

The biggest problem with being stood up is that the provider does not call or text to say they can't keep the appointment. They usually just turn off their phone after wasting your time. Why can't they have the decency to call or text to say something has occured and they can't make it? If they are concerned about a confrontation then they could just send a text; no fuss, no muss. That is not to much to ask for.

I have been doing this for a few years so I have a different outlook on this. I just think, hey, I saved my money and I will spend it on someone else. Of course, this doesn't account for the loss in time and gas but this is a risk you take in playing the game.

Of course, not all providers behave this way but you know who you are. And soon so will we; the clients.

I have to say I completely disagree with FlirtSter47 about a lady standing a guy up being no big deal. I would think his opinion is in the minority with regards to the other guys on this board. Many mongers have a small window of time in which to hobby and when a lady blows off an appointment without notification, it is extremely inconvenient. We all know other things can come up, but a little commuication on your part can make any hard feelings go away. All you have to do is call or text and apologize for having to cancel and tell the guy you will make it up to him the next time. Blowing a guy off and not letting him know about it deserves a bad review. I look at it like not going to a regular job and not calling in sick. They call that no call. No show and it goes on your record in a negative way. If you had called in sick, the absence would have been excused.
