Which is the reason why people shouldn't be that explicit in their details on a place. If that mongers review was true, naming names and details as he did, on a website that they probably read- and they can unlike, a lot of our asian friends - he won't be getting the happy happy there anymore.

So someone just put up a review on Yelp calling this place out for happy ending, and claiming that they are putting in a report to the police.

Only time for a quick review-went to AMP in Billerica#572-Anyways-was shorted on time-20 mins (paid for half hour) Soft touch which is what I asked for. Therapist was Cindy-not a looker for sure. Linda wasn't there today-bummer. At the flip was off to the races if you know what I mean. Probably due to the walk in monger (I had appt) that rang the bell just after I got started. Instead of turning him away, I heard her usher him to a room and told to wait. I knew then I was in trouble. My first sub par experience here so hopefully just a bad day. 40/40.

I got a HE at the same place but it may have been a 2-3 years ago. My appointment at Spa B was given away (I was told later it was a VIP). I gave the nail place a try and it was a decnt massage and HE. Much cheaper at time (I can't remember). I never went back as it was OK but nothing great and I had better places.

So to the guy who tried it. You radar was not so far off.

Work had me in the Norwood area.

Spa B has been long gone. Now it is a medical office.

The pizza place in that plaza is pretty good.

Went across the street to the asian nail studio. Was in need of massage for an aching back, anything else would be a bonus. Wasnt expecting "more".

This place is DIY at most.

This is a place where housewives, family's and teens go to get nails done.

There are some cute ladies working there.

Got an hour massage, It was very nice, almost teasing.

I left with my back feeling better but "spiritually frustrated" about the changing times in the AMP scene.

Ok, I think most of you are right and Mandala is really hit or miss, or miss, or miss.

However, the most basic part of this whole Mongering adventure is what you make of it.

I am 46 and not in perfect shape but I still go to Mandala around 7 times a year when I am out there.

I never go without exact change and the hide my cash in different parts of my wallet, shoes etc.

I never call ahead. Only a couple times had less than 4 girls to pick from. I am giving myself away now.

I often sit in the reception room and chat up the girls trying to pick the best of the choice available.

You have to take the receptionist with a pound of salt. I joke with her that I want to decide and that she had better be one of the choices. I am not interested in who came to work first or who's turn it is for a customer.

20 tip for legit massage is pretty generous. I usually leave 10 tip. Sometimes 15 tip if the massage only cost 50 to begin with.

I've been in the situation of having my hour cut short a few times but not anymore! If the massage is for an hour with no HE I pay. 6 for the hour and. 2 for the tip. If there is an HE included then I pay the. 4 whether or not the HE was top notch or sub par. There has only been a few times that I had the massuese tell me "Ok times up " at the 45 minute mark after the HE when I had paid. 6 for the hour so I would then leave. 2 for the ending. Of course the massuese in each case was not happy but I would always tell them you can get the other. 2 from the owner. My reasoning being that 45 minute massage should be. 4 with a HE. 4.

I did realize that I was taking my frustration out on the owner and that wasn't right. So now I just speak up and I always carry a watch on me now so if the time is "shorted" I speak up and tell the massuese that I have " X "amount of time left and that I want the massage finished. And of course my request is met with a "pissed off " look but with compliance.

If their employers choose to pay them low wages its not my duty to tip more to compensate for that or be some kind of charity. If the minimum wage is too low we vote for different people and increase it high like california did. Also, I really doubt they are paying taxes on much of the tips income (some might, but rare I would think) so its already more than it seems. I do expect more for tips. If a bar tender just gets me a drink and moves on, then I am not going to tip, but if they remembered my, or the drink I get, or attempted to conversate more then that would warrant a tip. If a waitress just got me food and didn't see her again til check time, same deal. I am not saying do backflips but I expect something extra. If they do no more work than a mcdonalds cashier I tip that way LOL. Now there is the exception for investment tips where you risk it and give absurd tips to open the door toward preferential treatment of some kind and I agree with that as well, although its hard to determine what the amount should be. After saying all this if the waitress or bartender was really cute I admit I would probably tip more anyway LOL. Its bad but I doubt I'd be the only one

OK, don't care one way or the other, I totally agree with you. Some were questioning if owner / therapist was posting positive reviews and evidently had issues with that, may be a case of YMMV but in my case have enjoyed each and every visit and plan for many more!

Thanks Bostsouth. Like you, I've enjoyed each and every visit to Ninja and look forward to many more. The more I go there, the more I want to go there. Sounds like a good way to start the new year. So are you saying you don't tip for average service, only for superior service at restaurants & legit massages? If that's what you mean, and it sounds like it is, then think of it this way. The $60 house fee is just that, for the use of the house, facilities and whoever is there doing the laundry, cleaning, mamason etc. Not the person doing the massage. She may get a VERY small amount from the house fee, but not always. Granted if the service is poor then less of a tip is appropriate, but to leave nothing is absurd. In the case of restaurants, waiters & waitresses get paid minimum wage. Even if the service is poor, a tip of somekind should be given. If service was that bad send a note to management, but the person did work for you. I feel very strongly about this as I have worked for tips as a part time bartender (which, by the way is an excellent part time job. There is more "take out" than you could ever imagine). That's my rant for the day.
