I called this service up and was met with great disappointment. It's a massive bait-and-switch operation. I should have known, calling an agency but being new bit me in the ass. Anyway, called the number and got a girl and she was nothing like the models they list. I got a mid-40s woman with a doughy body but an OK face. Massively overpaid for a CBJ.

Anyone have tips on using agencies? Or is it best to avoid them?

Actually, they pick their own names. The only stipulation I make is that it needs to be based in mythology to fit our theme. Some of them have needed some advice though. So what I usually do is pick three or four that I think fit them, and let them pick which they like. If I get any Russian girls, I'll certainly suggest they pick a Russian goddess. I kind of like Zarya or Devana.

Devana is actually Polish. Confusing European neighbors can at times prove to be counterproductive. Think of Greeks and Turks or English and Irish.

In Russian Deva (the Virgin) or Diva (or Divina, both meaning, the Wonder) would be safer. Or for example, Vesna would be the safest because it means Spring in several Slavic languages. Snegurochka (Snow Maiden) or Vasilisa (The Beautiful) , two very prominent characters in Russian mythology, on the other hand would definitely point to their Russian origin. Lada (a goddess of love) obviously applies. It is also refers to the name of a Russian car, I. E. Something that you can ride, a double meaning that may be appropriate here.

There is also Lelya (Lelia) , the goddess of frutility.

Fong's is legit, but I have heard you might get extras from her neighbors (YMMV) , but I did not get lucky the few times I have tried them.

If you go down the street to 99 Harrison, you will have better luck there.

It depends on the girl, some I do, some I don't. But I don't post reviews of anyone I do a shoot with, because I don't want to seem like a shill.

I used a 50mm prime lens, and yes it was a speedlite. I did over expose her a bit, and forgot to bring my gels. Unfortunately shooting nudes in public places means you can't really bring much lighting equipment. I'll usually just work with a speedlite, and maybe a small reflector.

Those pictures do look like over expose a little bit. But like you said, you probably have no time to adjust the light. FYI, some softwares like lightroom can adjust the level of exposure. Lighter skin in the picture might attract some hobbyists anyway. I have canon 1. 4F 50mm prime lens, it's a wonderful portrait lens.

I have only shot photos for one provider and she has all the copies. But I guess she decided to keep those pictures for her personal use.
