Another suggestion if you need to be more discrete and is just slightly further (1/2 a mile) , just ask a Taxi driver to take you to Sports Authority on Ward. There are at least 4-5 within short distance. Not as close to strip bars, but there's a lot of good places to eat and drink nearby.

When you are at Sports Authority, look across the street and you'll see a 2 story building. The 2nd floor has 2 places (3 if Pink reopens) Golden Queen and Rappongi. The building next to it and more beach side houses Tokyo Spa on the 2nd floor. Pacific Spa (down a side street) , and Ginza (right out of the back of the parking lot that comprises Sports Authority and Ross's) are also nearby. Easy to spot. Just look for the neon "OPEN" sign. Hehehe.

You can check the respective threads for recent reports on all these spots. Pacific Spa seems hit or miss and doesn't have it's own thread, but the others are well stocked and have good info.

Checkout Rubmaps.com and look for Hawaii, Honolulu. Then, from there, you'll see the options and address locations of the places. If you're staying in Waikiki, the distance to those places aren't that far by taxi. Depending on which hotel you're staying at in Waikiki, the distance would be shorter and Taxi fare to be even lower if you're closer to the establishment.

Then, use Taxifarefinder online website. It's a pretty cool website to get Taxi fares. It shows a map and calculates the fare from where you're coming from and where you're going to. It also shows a path on the map to get there as well as the distance traveled and the amount of time it takes to get there. Plus, the local taxi numbers are listed on the website to.

Use those 2 websites together and read this USG forum on reports of the providers. You want to go VIP? Lookup VIP address on Rubmaps, type that in Taxifarefinder To: destination. What hotel you're staying at? What's the address? Type that in From: Click on the gray button that says Get Fare!

I wouldn't bother with the SW's in waikiki because of the extremely high prices. VIP will have a variety to choose from but stay away from "hana" like other members posted.
