Seems like this discussion occurs every 3-4 months on the forum. Since I'm up much earlier than I would like to be, I thought I would weigh in, in hopes that it may fend off a full blown discussion / argument about the practice.

Barebacking is simply unwise. That is clear. The habits of the common SW make them very susceptible to every STD known to man, and maybe a few we have yet to discover. Many many factors go into this, including but not limited to:

1. Their drug of choice.

It has been established fact throughout the years that people sharing needles for drug use increases the likelyhood of STD.

2. Their clientele.

The woman you are having sex with is only as clean as the company she keeps. Many SW's BB when protection is not available, and they see the next hit, shot, pop, sitting in your wallet. It would also not surprise me in the least, if a monger were to BB if a SW was too "out of it" to know any better, and he was so inclined. It would also not surprise me to find out that a monger was knowingly infected and spreading it in the SW community as either a way of "getting back at society", or simply being inhuman.

3. Their own habits as it relates to STD testing.

Let's face it, these women are not known for having the right priorities. STD testing is far down on the "to do" list, if it made the list at all. With the numbers of potential STD donors to the common SW, and then later the number of possible infected, it would be nearly impossible to tell who was patient 0 that created the shitstorm if an infection spread rapidly in this community. And since testing isn't a high priority, the infection could spread widely before any detection occured. And just to wade into judgement, just slightly which I had not intended to do, but do you believe that a knowingly infected SW would stop her only source of income because she found out she had a STD? I give that a 50/50 at best.

If the old adage is true, that you're sleeping with everyone that your partner has ever slept with, then as much as I hate to say it, we're all sleeping with eachother. (In the most non homo way possible of course)

If you knowingly have sex, even protected, with a SW you know to have gone BB in the past and yet not tested, that you are at a higher risk for possible infection? I can see an argument for that. However, one should assume that ALL have, for any number of reasons. Therefore you must go in knowing that the person you are with may be infected, and use the proper protection, which most do.

I think it's also safe to say that about the time you find out you've had a "problem" with a woman that wasn't using protection with others, your problems are a LOT larger than the woman you had unprotected sex with.

First post, hurray! Been lurking for a few weeks and finally registered.

Anyways, have gone up to Baltimore for the past 3 weekends to visit with friends and partake in the nightlife. Briefed myself on the terrain and what to expect.

First trip:

If there's a girl in a hot / skimpy outfit who you think is a streetwalker, just do a drive by, nod or wave. If she's a streetwalker she'll most likely give a very definitive nod and wave back. Pull over and wait. If she's a streetwalker, she'll most likely come over to your vehicle. If she does, offer her a ride. If she gets in, conversate her. Feel her out. Ask her what she offers / what her prices are and try to negotiate what you think would be a fair price.

Regarding police- Just use common sense. Keep a close lookout. If you notice a police presence in the are, don't do anything stupid.

'twas a good morning for me today fellas! Got off of work at 7:15 and had an appointment to drop the car off for service. Decide to take the scenic route and head down Garrison.
