The drug situation is a lot better now than it was 20 years ago. A city park which brushes the RLD called the Taunusanlage had a large permanent druggie encampment in the late 80s and early 90s. By mid decade it had been cleaned up though and now it is a pleasant city park again day or night.

The whole area in and around the F-town RLD is a lot safer than it looks. The bums and addicts (who are multilingual) might ask you for a Euro but if you say no they accept that and leave you alone.
