I had the opportunity to check out T's new partner, Karen. I take back a little of what I said the other day about not normally being attracted to mature providers. I was asked a few weeks back by a couple of different providers to say something here about all of this and I declined for various reasons. There has been a lot of stories and misinformation being circulated about all of this and, to me, most all of this is Lacy's private business and is not really something to be put out on this forum or any other. That being said, there are accusations and gossip flying around about misappropriation of some of these funds and who they have been donated to. I will also say that one member here has been soliciting donations under Lacy's e-mail addy no less so I only ask that all of these good intentions are done in a prudent manner with due diligence. I know that this member could have had no personal contact with Lacy, her SO, her mom and her attorney being the only who have, so all else is either through them or lots of supposition and conjecture. I do know that money has flowed through and has been of help. I know of no one that can say with certainty who has or has not forwarded the funds that have been donated. For any that feel the need to help, if you wish to PM me I can provide you with the name and address of her attorney, with whose permission donations can go directly to his office to help with the legal fees which is what the focus of all of this has been. I would assume that the vast majority that will feel the need to contribute have the address to send it to them directly (maybe the most highly mapquested addy and in more gps units than any other) If you feel that your own method is better that is great because I really want no involvement in this but want all the best for Lacy, who either socially or business-wise was never anything less than fun and gracious and often generous in many forms to me or others I saw her interact with, she is a unique soul to say the least. I wish her the best, and this will pass, and should serve as a reminder to all of us that one small poor decision, one that many of us will surely make this week even, can start a landslide that tumbles wildly out of control.

I'd like to thank you both in public for what you've done for our friend. I've benefitted so often from the kind hearts and open spirits one finds among top-notch providers that one of the things which strikes me in this unfortunate situation is how much ugliness gets heaped on good people, and what a community this could be but for the petty spite and legal brutality of the bluenoses and swindlers and juveniles that surround it.

What Sophie says in her e-mail is spot on. Lacy has found herself in some trouble, which started when she stuck her neck way out to try to help someone she thought was a friend in need. When the heat got turned up on that "friend" she threw Lacy under the bus to save her own skin. So Lacy's kind intentions ended with her getting bit in the ass in a big way. Then a series of smaller things got thrown into the mix. None of which involve a "meltdown" or are related to her activities as a provider. And things started to snowball.

I am not one who rushes to the aid of every damsel in distress, but I have contributed to help Lacy in this situation. I did so because, in this case, I am confident that helping her is the right thing for *me* to do, and I encourage you to help out if you feel so inclined. (Also, in case it is relevant to you, Sophie's support for Lacy goes beyond the e-mail she sent out. She has also been very generous in her assistance to Lacy in this matter.)
