Might I add that I tried to move the discussion to the General Thread where I thought it would be more appropriate. Besides, if anyone had real SW information they wanted to share, no one was stopping them.
Just because someone says change the subject does not mean a thing. I will not be bullied! I have just as much right to discuss topics of my concern (and apparently other members were just as concerned) as other members have the rights to discuss topics of their concern.
I agree that the conversation on surveillance cameras have run its course at this time. I hope that if there is a change, and more information on the subject becomes available that it is shared with the forum. If anyone is stopped or ticketed resulting from camera surveillance, I hope that they will be willing to continue the discussion and share that info in the General Thread, the StreetWalker Thread or anywhere it can get the proper attention.

I was put early this morning, around 3am (or so). Passed the brunette with huge fakees near that new bar that opened closer to Morgan (where Katie hangs). Saw a couple BSWs near the Tri, then saw Shannon, a newer Shannon, not the other Shannons. She was walking a tiny dog with her man. Drove Broadway about 6pm Sunday. Quite a few women out, including a couple of very healthy, good-looking ones around the triangle. One nicely dressed, hot young brunette seemed TGTBT. I was going to turn the corner and come back around to take another look but saw a few more a couple blocks further so I kept going and ended up driving all the way down to Morgan which was deserted except for a blonde in pink sweat pants at the corner. I don't usually pick girls up there. It's just a lilttle too open for my tastes and it's not always the best selection. But from the road she looked pretty decent so I let her in. She said her name was Katie and checking the archives it's likely the same Katie that BillJonesphr reported picking up at the same corner earlier this year. Maybe about 5'7", average weight. Her complexion isn't the best but overall she's a bit above average for that spot. Friendly girl, says she already has 5 kids at age 31. Over on the nearby Philly forum, there was a lot of discussion- useful and necessary discussion. About the Kennsington strangler when he was on the loose. Over on the AC forum, there is often discussion about why the SW scene suddenly dried up after the AC stranlger and would the scene ever return to normal (it did not).

ALL of this is part of the topic.

The fact that there were many posts about the cameras in Camden show there was some interest in the topic. Its not FAR OFF topic like a discussion of fashion or weather (which, by the way, IMHO, can be very much part of the topic when the hot waether brings out the short shorts and the mini skirts). Also, lets not forget who brought up the camera subject with an open call for discussion becasue he wanted to find out more. It was CJ. Hey, are you going to tell HIM to get back on topic? He posts more pics and more useful information than almost all other posters combined. So when someone asks him what he pays or what agreement he makes, are you going to tell HIM to get back on topic?

One more point: Traffic on the forum even if its slightly off the topic keeps the board active and keeps us reading which brings more mongering reports and benefit all of us. So how about a little patience?

Let's definitively get back to the subject of this thread! I picked up Kelly around 1 AM. Wed. Morning near the ex gas station near Line. She's a pretty WSW, about 5'3 120, 25-30. Why not just shoot the camera lense with a paintball gun?

Use a dark color paintball, hit it a few times and problem solved.

Then to see if these cameras are actually monitored check the camera from time to time to see if they actually maintain it and how long it takes them to do it.

Not sure I would be waving around a what looks like a gun in Camden. I think that would cause one more trouble than the cameras. Just saying.

Not sure if I should dignify your remarks with an answer. I simply posted my observations. Take them for whatever they are worth, or not.

BTW. Please tell me where on Broadway you have seen the dome camera mounts you provided a link for. BTW I work in communications business so I have done some design work in this area. Additionally they would have to have connectivity back to their center. In many cities they use wireless PtP links to achieve this. I doubt very much the City of Camden has fiber running down its streets it has access to. Without connectivity cameras are useless.

They use WAN. From the specs, as far as I read, each unit has storage capabilities and can be remote accessed by patrol cars as well as the central monitoring station. There are no fiber or wire connections. It would appear that multiple cameras are set up in nodes. Each node is fed to the central monitoring station or the mobile command center. Check out the MLK side of the food court at B'way and MLK, B'way and Royden. 7th and Royden and Benson and B'way. There is also one mounted on the roof of the Rand. Those are "cameras" whether you care to believe it or not. Your "stop light" control thesis is nothing more than nonsense. You've got how many posts on here? 4?

What does the number of posts I have on the board have anything to do with cameras on broadway? Stick to the topic and stop taking shots.

The network could be a mesh. I highly doubt they are storing the video on the camera. All video is being fed back to a central server of some sort for storage and access. The cops will access the camera via the network connection. Likely an EVDO connection trough a cell phone carrier. They could be using a cell phone connection to backhaul the video to the server however this becomes very expensive quickly. Every other city video implementation I have seen to date uses PtP technology to backhaul. Then again the city of Camden could have more fiber then one might think.

I have observed the camera on Broadway and Roydon (?). That may be Camden City, or it could also be COOPER Hospital. I am also aware of the one at MLK and BWAY. If you listen to Camden City Police Radio traffic this one is very obvious. I will have to take a closer look for the others.

BTW. Google stop light sensors. They do exist and at one time private citizens could buy a device that would allow you to change the light from Red to Green. It shoots a wireless signal to a sensor typically mounted at the intersection. My "Thesis" isn't nonsense. The Technology exists.

If the devices on the light cross arm is a camera it has an extremely narrow horizontal field of view.

Not saying they are not there, but based on observation and listening to police radio traffic they don't overly concern me.

The spec relies on PtP Mesh, which is not on Broadway. When it does come it will be very easy to spot. PtP Mesh requires clear Line of Site. You will see 24 inch panel antennas pointed up and down broadway. One at each camera.
