On 1/21/11 I picked up Christy on the corner of Palm (?) & Fairhaven just after dark. Have seen her there often, me thinks that's her spot. No, Anjguy has it right. The Judge can quash the warrant. Ordinarily a lawyer would petition the Court to have it quashed, but she can do the same thing herself. Whether it works or not is up to the Judge who issued the warrant, but it's the same way if you involve a lawyer. It's up to the Judge.

Speaking of that: The same day one of those 2 arrests occurred, another SW I know got arrested for prostitution as well. Last week was her court date, but she missed it, because she's been in the hospital for the past 2 weeks after having to get an emergency surgery. She will be laid up for several months. She now has a warrant for her arrest. I need to find out from someone who knows, how to get this warrant removed and get an indefinite postponement for a new trial.

PM me if you know how she could get this done. [/QUOTE]First thing to do is call the court and get the name of the Judge who was suppose to hear her case. Explain to the clerk why she did not appear and ask for guidance. The clerk will advise:

Then get a letter from her Hospital Social Work or if you can a letter from her doctor stating date of hospitalization and expected date of release. Then draft a petion to the Judge stating simply that she would have appeared before you honor if she was not hospitalized and request a withdraw of the warrant. You can write the letter on her behalf or have her sign if also. This will work provided she does not have other failure to appear convictions but even so try it any way. I did this for my friend and it worked.
