Can you imagine the "rides?" : the mish, the doggie, the CG, the RCG, and, of course, the ever popular BBBJCIMSW, LMAO.

    Broadway Vs. The K

He said he thought that Philly was scary and made sure he drove with his windows up and his doors locked. Don't get me wrong, I like both the K and Broadway, but the K is a walk in the park compared to Broadway IMHO.

    New Forum Format

I am surmising about the reasoning behind the latest new format of this website, but here is my two cents worth:

    1. I like the new format. It is crisper and cleaner with softer hues. It is easier to read and easier on the eyes.

    2. I don't think too many serious mongers will miss the photo gallery. It was mostly for guys to ogle pics anyway IMHO than to use to find women for sex, which is the stated purpose of this Forum. It also had to be a bear and costly to maintain, and probably chewed up a lot of memory. Besides, the vast majority of the pics posted in the photo gallery were becoming advertisements by commercial providers, joke postings, posts from the internet, etc. Very, very few were of "real" and available women. Mongers in particular know where to find pics of real SWs in their area. If they are visiting another city, it is also fairly easy to do some research there as well. What does a guy in CA care about what a SW looks like in Philly and vice versa if he is never going to visit here? Oglers still know where to find real SW pics if they want to ogle. There are just a handful of contributors on this website, myself included, who predominate that genre.

    2. Having thumbnail previews in a report was handy, but it just takes a few clicks to see if a set of attached SW pics appeals for whatever reason and is worth looking at more of them. The thumbnail feature must also have been expensive to include and probably chewed up a lot of memory and slowed down the response time of the website. Not having the thumbnails will make it more incumbent upon the pic contributor to more descriptively label the pics, as I have already started to do anyway. The new format allows you to view all the pics in a thread alphabetically, so I will have to keep that in mind when labeling my pics and place the SW's name first.

    3. Not having a photo gallery or thumbnails in a report should most certainly reduce the complaints from those who thought my posting numerous pics was cluttering the photo gallery or were too many to be bothered looking at in my thread. Now you only have yourself to blame if you want to be opening up the pic attachments, LOL.

    4. If one contributes a lot of reports and pics, as I do, then having an index to them in the absence of a photo gallery makes all the sense in the world. So, I am very happy that I have already done that both for my Philly and South Jersey reports and pic postings. I plan to keep this index current by updating it periodically, most certainly at least once a year, and maybe semi-annually and / or quarterly depending upon how many new pics and SWs I have added.

    5. Taking the spotlight off of pics makes the impact of the writing all that more important. I never had a problem expressing myself "eloquently" in this manner.

If we get the photo gallery and thumbnails in reports back, terrific. But, I can live with it either way. I see no side-bar advertising yet here in the new format as there used to be, and it may be likely that the overall pictorial graphic format is still being revised and updated, including that for advertisements, the photo gallery and thumbnails. We shall see.

The main stroll here in Philly on the K is not all that complicated to figure out for a self-guided tour: check the SW Stroll Maps for Philly in this Forum:

    The Philly "K Stroll"

However, the K can look very daunting to someone more used to seeing green lawns and 2-car garages in the burbs.

There is a thriving underground drug trade all around the Ave. This is the main reason SWs are there in the first place. With drug business around, in a generally run-down and declining area of the city, you have to expect your share of strange and dangerous characters roaming the streets. However, it isn't all bad by a long shot. There are a number of retail outlets, particularly bunched together in the few blocks north and south of the intersection of Allegheny and Kensington. On a typical day there are many shoppers in this vicinity, and the SWs tend to operate outside of this more commercial zone. Retail stores pepper the stroll even outside of the vicinity of Allegheny and Kensington. There are also eateries, car dealerships, and even a fire station, several parks, several schools and a church along or near the stroll. Together with these are a fair share of aged and deteriorating and / or boarded up buildings, and vacant lots.

I have seen better urban neighborhoods, but I have seen a lot worse as well. It isn't quite the war zone that Broadway in Camden appears to be, although I am comfortable on that stroll as well, during the day in particular. The biggest danger in Camden IMHO is that LE has a hard on for mongers, and you have to be a LOT more careful than in Philly, where a white suburban-looking monger tends to blend in more. I am not trying to be racist, but rather stating a fact: if you see a Caucasian male driving on Broadway in Camden, most especially with PA plates, then he is very likely to be a monger; if you see a Caucasian girl on Broadway she is even more likely to be a SW. It has to make Camden LE's job a lot easier in spotting their targets.

I find that during the day I feel quite safe along the K or Broadway. However, potential dangers always lurk in a seedy urban neighborhood and it pays to keep alert and not be lulled into a false sense of security.

Next time you're in town, maybe give Camden a try. Usually works out well and it's pretty close to K.

Next thing we know you'll have the Philly version of this business going.

The travel guide industry has Frommer's, and another member flatteringly recently compared my intel to Frommer's for SWs in Philly. So, a full guide service for "the fun zone known as the K" (I like that phrase) would seem appropriate. Can you see it? : double-decker tour buses going up and down the Ave and pointing out the "sights" to tourists, with their photo-illustrated guide books, descriptions and reports.

If you are staying for three nights I recommend staying at one of the hotels near the airport. If you want a bargain you can try the Motel 6 at 55/night for the AAA rate. From there you can get a hotel all the way up the scale to the best you can imagine.

The airport area hotels are 20-30 minutes from the K non-rush, and it is all expressway once you get to I-95.

She should be around. Unlike many of the girls on the K she is more "normal" : not addicted to drugs, doesn't work the streets and doesn't have a pimp. She doesn't even advertise on BP or CL. She is a fairly private UTR type of gal, although now she certainly has some notoriety on here.
