Just got back from TJ. I crossed the border on Saturday and checked into Cascadas. As others have mentioned, they are now taking $40 as a deposit. My hotel experience was quite poor this trip. They gave me a room on the 8th floor. There are only two elevators that go to that floor, both are in the back of the hotel, and both were out of commission for most of my stay. So I ended up climbing a lot of stairs. Also, there was a lot of construction noise during my trip. I hope the hotel management is able to right the ship.

You can park up to 24 hours but that lot is light and they rarely check.

Take the trolley down to San Ysidro. It starts at 5 am and stops at 12:55 pm.

And on a side note to those staying at Cascadas, may want to bring an actual 'hotspot' with you. The internet at Cascadas never was ideal but it's basically good for nothing now. Super slow, difficulty even connecting. I think the installation of the new elevator affected the network. I'm not certain, all I know is I had to use my iPhone as a hotspot just to attempt to get wifi.
