Years ago we had the Bouy Boat at Port Canaveral which went offshore and offered gambling on the upper decks and ladies below deck. Then a Disney Cruise Ship made Port Canaveral home port and in a nanosecond or less the Bouy Boat was gone forever from Port Canaveral.

Also I knew an attorney who worked for Disney in their legal department. She was sent to various Orlando Strip Clubs to observe and personally warn them about their strippers wearing Disney Costumes, they would be facing serious lawsuits from Disney. We had some laughs about some of the costumes she saw.

So her JOB was to go to strip clubs and observe the strippers? Where do I sign up for that?

They should leave things alone cause there going to open up a bunch of other business to doing things that massage parlors took care of.

Its not like all of the massage shops gave happy endings just like 9 out of 10.

I imagine a lot of AMPs can change their name or "services" ever so slightly so it doesn't file under a massage. "Body work"? "Aromatherapy?

Read the Bill and the various summaries and have to say. Bit confused with the part where the 'clients' must be identified with all their PI. I really don't disagree with record keeping for Employees and Owners as applicable or even with the 'dress code' or the silly rules on windows and doors and I can sort of see how that might. Just might deter the exploitation of some workers. But I DON'T see how recording a client's personal information. Including phone number and home address!! That isn't going to do squat to deter exploitation. But it will force many of these places to close down due to just a lack of business. And THAT makes me wonder. WHO really is behind this. Cause I don't think it has anything to do with LE. But perhaps its another 'profession' that has seen a cut into their 'business profits'. This Bill needs to be challenged in the Courts and at a minimum. That recording of 'client' information needs to be removed. That right there will be the reason many shops will choose to just close as business dries up. Even if they are compliant in all the others. Sort of. Just my thoughts.

No touching, 3 foot rules, and pasties killed the business in Orlando and the traffic moved to Tampa and Brevard. Disney hates when money leaves the parks and AMPs must have gotten on their radar. Think about how much Disney park and cruise money they think they are missing from men going to AMPs in Miami, Brevard, Orlando, and Tampa?

Couldn't "clients" just fill out fake address info and names? Nobody is really there to prove the customer had their I'd verified. I imagine these places can just collect fake info to make it appear legit.

The establishment will be required to "RECORD" in English or spanish and "VERIFY" the "CLIENTS" name address and phone number before services can be rendered. The only way anyone can verify your name and address is with state issued I'd. No idea how they would verify your phone number. Either way things are going to get rough for these businesses pretty fast because I don't see anyone giving up their Id.

Must be in English or Spanish?? What about our fine outstanding Asian American friends and citizens! Our elected officials are very very prejudiced bigots!!

This is unfortunate news. Although my best AMP experience was in Orlando, a local visit did meet the need on occasion. Looks like it all will be off the table statewide.

This may be their way to go after who they consider "The Problem Shops. (like the old Milk in O Town). There are parts of the new bill that allows them to shut down immediately establishments that cater more to sexual activities (the horror. LOL) than massage. This allows them to shut them down without having to wait for guilty verdicts thru the court system. Just my wishful 2 cents opinion.

I'll be surprised if this law scares away that many parlors. They're pretty crafty and probably anticipate laws like these. The volume of AMPs in this state is pretty insurmountable and I don't see the state having the time and competency to shut them all down or enforce this as strictly as we fear.

I know some places like Tampa have "aromatherapy shops" so they may change names or nature of services offered if it gets to be a problem.

I imagine many of the places will not ask for I'd if they know you are a regular. But if someone new walks in they may have you fill in the form until they get to know you better. IDK.

It will be interesting to see how the Asian (and American) parlors skirt around the new regulations. I wonder how many will just pack up and move out of state.
