Sorry to hear your afternoon out didn't work out for you. It's definitely a YMMV situation for every monger and every provider.

I've taken providers out for lunch or dinner, and that was kind of it (like your situation). But I've also had a provider who wouldn't let me pay the full price and would only take $150-$200 from me for each session, would let me do Greek, A2 P, and film the whole thing.
