I'm a little drunk and bored so I might as well throw out another epiphany I had. If you think about it, a lot of us, myself included, fall into this trap of thinking of these massage parlor workers as poor, innocent girls who just ventured down the wrong road. But I was watching a few Korean movies this past weekend on www.crunchyroll.com (English subtitles) and now my view has changed a little bit.

I don't agree with everything you said. There are more than one million girls in Korea in this line of work and they account for more than 10% of the country's GNP (I have seen up to 20% in some Korean new papers). It is a lousy job, but they make good money. I have been to Korea 30 times and I speak the language (somewhat) so I strike up a conversation with them (in Korea and in the US) and find out what city or part of Korea they come from and ask about their family. Many come from middle class families. I don't try to ask why they do this because it will just spoil the mood. However, when I have tried to do this, many of them say it's the money and some don't want to talk about the topic. I have also seen hobbyists in Korea (during the day, they are accountants, teachers, etc.) that do this for the money (I went out with some of them). They are very nice, educated and polite. I am sure that this is a small minority, because I having a hard time finding them.

The bottom line is that these girls probably have very divers backgrounds some are in it for the money and some because they have to do it. There were also stories in Korean news papers that girls that have large credit card debt pay or are forced to pay by working in some of these parlors.

As for us mongers, I completely agree with your opinion.

Ok, I'm one of those slugs that RTFF and doesn't post. I understand your 'tudes, but the Catholic guilt trip won't work on me. I'm going to hell anyway for much worse offenses, and a number of y'all will be there with me.

Joy. Let me 'splain.

I had climbed up there twice in Jan (not easy for us FOGs) and seen 'Cherry' as mentioned previously here (tall girl, hard, store bought Bs). Read it here.) Most depressed neighborhoods around DC have local SWs. NE and SE. I don't really know NW. Around the Trinidad area, there is action day and night, but you need to look like you belong there. If you're an outside the beltway dude, don't do it.

All along WV ave, Montello and Trinidad, Florida on on end, MT Olivet on the other. Most are BSWs but there is a skinny blonde white girl usually working WV. By the way, you'd be surprised at how some of the most beautiful girls with the sweetest personalities in the massage parlor turn out to be most spoiled, selfish, and rotten people outside of the work place.

Consider that even Koreans themselves believe their girls are the biggest two-faced people in the world... I wonder how much more so it is for girls who choose this line of work. Of course, there are always exceptions.

On the flip side, I wonder how we could analyze the psyche of ourselves, the johns. We can try to rationalize it all we want, but the truth is, we ourselves are not normal. I have been RTFFing for the last half hour and have seen several posts about "Golds". I have lived in DC, and travel to your fair city some, and have a decent posting record, so I am going to ask for some advice.

I am in DC tomorrow. I was going to go to the place with the red door, but I haven't seen anything posted recently. I saw a positive on 1433. I have had adequate service there, but the past few visits have been mediocre. If Golds is new, and near my hotel (Embassy on 9th), I will give it a try.

The comment about the kabobs got me thinking. K and 11 (?) had a place years ago, above the kabob house in the grey stone building that looks like a church, on the top floor. Is this golds? That would be a lovely find, particularly if it's good, as this is ground zero for where I often stay.

I guarantee that except for slow days, HJ and BJ cardholders will be turned away at the door. Most of these places operate by having the girls take turns (and if some guy requests a girl, that girl misses her next turn) and they are severely disappointed when some guy shows up not wanting the whole thing. That's why they try to rip you off by inflating the prices way over HJ/BJ only places, sometimes even asking for the full $100.

It doesn't make sense, since if they took everyone (HJ, BJ, FS), there would be more customers, thus more turns, thus the chance of more money. But I guess they don't want to risk being the person on Wheel of Fortune who keeps spinning "Bankrupt" or "Lose a Turn".

I remember seeing a post about how it seemed like the most popular girls were being kept from the customers, and the reason for this is this turn system. The popular girl has to make the exact same amount of money (not counting extra tips) as the other ugly girls and this always causes friction.

I was looking to try out Golds today, but it said it was closed untill 2pm. Thats just too long for a monger to wait! So I headed upsatairs to Therapy M.
