Another scam I've run into is not a deposit but a gift card. I contacted a provider a month or so ago (I forget which one, one of the ads that comes and goes), and they texted me the address to a hotel in the area. Then they texted that they wanted me to get the donation in the form of a gift card from CVS or somewhere. When I get to the hotel, they'll "verify" the card and then give me the room number. What Dom Draper said is good advice. "Divorced" is a red flag, as well as when they advertise that they do BBFS. Plenty of girls I know do BBFS, but none of them advertise it. In general, when the pictures are too professional, or were taken in settings far away from Nashville (Caribbean beaches, Vegas hotels) the ad's likely a scam. Also, if the donations are too low (qv 60, hh 80, h 150), then they're probably setting you up.

By the way, I'm not dissing anyone with any of this. When I think back to the ads I answered when I was starting out in the days of Backpage, and the situations I walked into that could have been robberies or stings, I get a cold chill down my spine.
