Aside from the "left my _ in the car" line, I've used the allergy card. So as soon as you see the provider is bad news and you need to bail, say you are allergic to cigarette smoke (commonly present in the premises with these gals), dogs or cats (works well if you see or smell one), mold (doesn't have to be evident, just say you detect it). I think I saw her smoking outside when I visited her. Regardless of that, by her bedside was a huge decanter of brandy. So yes, drinking is a thing with her as she stated it keeps her calm. Totally agree. Aside from them making you into an Instacart shopper for them, even if they reduce the donation based on the cost of the goods, what happens if you get ghosted.
