Just walk into any neighborhood (UES or UWS) bar / pub on a Friday or Saturday night. Even though it's the summer Plenty of pussy around. If you dress decently and can carry a conversation you're good to go.

Second this, had to go into NYC recently by car. No way in hell can they check traffic coming into NYC that's not at an airport or Port Authority / Penn / etc.
