That's one of my built in habits.

When going in and scanning the room, look to see if the lock is there and works! If not, I close the door after stepping out and I'm out of there. And certainly not a door with just that silly chain or lock switch in the door knob. Minimum is a working deadbolt. You can use any excuse to leave or nothing but just leave fast.
