I didn't like CityXguide because there seemed to be too much spam for my taste. I thought Liveescorts had promise, but I have been hung up on three times. They acted like they had no idea their number was attached to an online ad.

Adultsearch had promise too, but no one knows when those ads were put on, and the girls don't have the sense to put their visiting dates on, or take their photos off when they leave town.

1. Timestamp for each ad. Otherwise there's no way to know whether the ad is stale or not. Knowing when the ad was posted helps avoid wasting the time of both provider and client.

2. Location. This is trickier since too broad and too narrow are equally unhelpful. BP's DC location breakdown was fine, since the District is not that big. But S. Maryland and Northern Virginia were a little too broad. OTOH, I've seen at least one site which makes you search for individual cities (ex. Falls Church, Arlington, Alexandria) which is cumbersome. The best I've seen was how BP handled NYC. In Manhattan, for example, you could view all or select Uptown, Midtown, and other areas, all with a couple of clicks. It was super-easy to find relevant ads.

3. Minimize fake ads. BP had its share of fakes but they were relatively easy to spot and didn't overwhelm the site. Unfortunately, quite a few new sites seem to be mostly fake ads.

Of course, there are other "nice to have" features I can think of, like premium ads, ad templates that encourage providers to list rates and services offered, etc. But the above three are the bare minimum for a decent ad site, IMHO. Right now I can't think of any site that's doing a good job.
