I second PghGuy's recommendation to see someone who specializes in Vasectomies. I went to my Urologist who, after a painful procedure, confided it had been quite a while since he had done a snip. However I was otherwise quite lucky as I had minimal pain and swelling after the procedure. PghGuy, certainly none of my business but, if there is any way to get the procedure done with your spouses knowledge I would try that avenue. If something goes wrong and she finds out after the fact there may be much worse fallout.
