As to the two types of SBs, I think the first type is extremely close to being a real GF or alternatively a high end escort. You care for her, give her gifts, etc. If you get attached to her emotionally, it will undermine your marriage. If you aren't married and you have a LT p4p relationship, well, maybe you are just smarter than the rest of us. (But watch out for the common law marriage rules in your state.)
