It is much better to catch the trolley and walk across. It faster to cross back on foot. You can catch a taxi van for 20 pesos. Or Uber if you wish. The other advantage is that there is much less chance of hassled by cops.

I don't think many rental car companies allow you to take the car to Mexico. The way things are I would not be driving over unless you are familiar with the area. Just park and walk over and catch the zona shuttle! Have fun and bang as many girls as you can. Share your experience.

To be fair, they don't just fuck any guys. There's plenty of girls who reject potential clients for a variety of reasons. Just got back from TJ. I crossed the border on Saturday and checked into Cascadas. As others have mentioned, they are now taking $40 as a deposit. My hotel experience was quite poor this trip. Cross the bridge over the 5 freeway like you're going to the outlets. If you're traveling west over the bridge, you'll find Border Station Parking on your right hand side before you get to the outlet malls. Might be pricey but should be safe.
