I assumed that since the actual Mitchell brothers themselves are long gone, none of their theatres survive. I have been to the one in San Francisco, but it was decades ago. And you're right, the Jolar theatre is nothing like it.
I also did not understand that you were talking about the movie theatre inside Jolar, which is $10 for 4 hours with 4 screens of movies. I've been talking about the live girls in glass booths there, which is $20 for (I think) 10 minutes.

So last night went out exploring and went to Cheetahs and Pure Platinum. Two different places and vibes. Cheetah's was all about getting you to get a dance. Its worn, hit or miss on whether there's anyone of interest working any given night, and its only open at night, 9:00 pm - 2:00 am, I think. Admission is cheap, dances are cheap, girls aren't walking around asking for tips (you actually have to go to the desk and request time with a particular girl), and dances are in private rooms. My idea of good time probably differs from a lot a people's, I'm not a drinker, for instance, but I've had some interesting times there, interesting in a good way. Not every time, but often enough to go back every once in a while.
So ill be moving to SD in about a week. How's the strip clubs out there? I've been reading the boards, but I don't see a favorite "mongering" spot. Most cities you can just read the reports and pretty much figure it out. Anyway if anyone is nice enough to point me in the right direction I will be very thankful. I've been told by three different Cheetahs' girls over the past week who have discretely provided extras in the past that the club is cracking down big-time on extras -- as in zero tolerance. Everyone is scared shitless to do much more than the normal dances, which are still pretty good as SD goes.
For more than that, out-of-club fun remains available from many of the dancers, as always. The girls have stepped up their game and marketed that option more aggressively to make up for the reduced dances / ice box / tips / etc.

Of all the SD clubs I've been to they seem the most legit / clean. Mileage is low in the regular lap dance section and in the $120 section it's not worth it.

If you mean a really high-touch lap dance by a hot dancer where your dick remains in your pants, then yeah, I've certainly had better than at Cheetah's. But, personally, (and please don't take offense to this) anything that doesn't involve "extras" I consider to be a waste of time. The 5/$100 VIP section at Cheetah's used to NOT be a waste of time. Been wanting to go check out another one, and wondering if these girls have a schedule they follow, especially the asian you mentioned. Asian + nice rack hard to come by.
Ok, here's the skinny. Now that I know what I know, I think someone might have posted this awhile ago but the intel faded with time in our collective knowledge base.
The girls are ad hoc. They don't follow a schedule and show when they want. These are girls who are strippers normally, so this is probably close to what youd call a "second job. " Normally theyre there about the time strippers who need extra money wake 10 am'ish. (Otherwise they sleep in till 2 pm or thereabouts). Theyre there until just after noonish. Again, this isn't set in stone. So what's a monger to do?
Lady at the counter said best thing to do is call them and ask if any girls are there. Its not the theater or arcade, which is just watching porn. You want the live girl show.

For those not familiar with Barnett, theres two ways in. One from parking lot off Barnett and then one from a side street. Both are what I would call the southern end of the building. Head towards the north, or opposite end. Youll see off to the left, down the hall, a sign saing "Live girls" pointing right. When you get down the hallway far enough youll see a side hall with 2-3 doors and windows next to the door. Thats where the live girl shows will be. If no one is there, itll have a chain across saying "employees only. ".

I guess you are referring to the place on University ave in La Mesa. A few years ago I had to work in SD for a couple of weeks at a time and I discovered this joint.
They have movie booths with porn which costs minimum a dollar and if you want to sample a beauty at one of the booths were they work and want to be ready to make a deposit on your side of the glass first you warm up by watching some porn and once you get out and go to the gals booth most likely you are ready to make the deposit within the allotted time (I think it's like 6 minutes) which used to be $10 for the show and $10 tip you slip thru an opening for the gal on the other side of the glass. However if you can't do it within the allotted time then you have to pony up another 10 + another tip. Usually you can have this thrill for about $21 or $22 out the door.
The booths were the gals work have curtains and once you ask one for a show you go on one side and lock your door and she closes her booth and cover the glass door with a curtain so nobody can see what she's doing. Then the glass divider between the two of you clears out once you put your $10 on the machine and the FUN starts by her stripping. Some of the gals used to have toys and they would do shows with these. YMMV.
Also, there is a phone that you can talk to her on since if you talked thru the glass people outside can hear you.

The club is always packed. Occasionally a strung out stripper comes in my work and theyre always hot. If you see all purple out front at night, that's them.
I'd still so Tijuana. Just budget more time to get back in.

I went there with a bachelor party and they were trying to charge us $20 a head (normal price at the time). After a bit of arguing and threatening to leave to a different club, they let us in free. Probably best to call ahead and work something out with any club you can and another as a back up.
