They didn't take my car, but I had to go to court several times to fight it (I used the public defender and the prosecuting attorney was more on my side than he was).

My case was dismissed right about the time that channel 7 was doing reports about how the cops were abusing the loitering law (like ticketing a guy on his own porch), and the police had to issue a statement saying that they were going to stop issuing the bogus tickets.

That helped me because I sued the city, they just settled last year for a couple grand. But it wouldn't surprise me if they started abusing loitering tickets because it's easy cash for the city.

But the bailiff, suggested I show for the 2nd visit, and when the crooked cop doesn't, the infraction will be tossed out. And it was.
