I took a stroll through the Ave tonight, despite the weather conditions. When I first arrived out all I saw was a tall thin, donkey faced blonde walking around by the Coney near Livernois. I cruised up and down a bit and noticed the HTS down by the car lots walking around. On the way back through I ran across Neesa and we spun off to my favorite spot. Webt for a drive last night, and was shocked by how little action was out. Made the wide loop of te circuit starting with the triangle, bright moor, warrendale, the ave, fort, vernor, jc, and the are. I saw one filthy and nasty SW on fort. Over the years I've posted here a few times. Guess I kind of want a few opinions. I shoot photos and video of local women who may or may not work as proson the streets of Detroit and other major cities. What the ladies do when not with me has nothing to do with me. With their permission, I showcase them on websites that I've been running for 10 years. A few days ago while in the act of shooting photos and video. 2 of my uncles and an aunt surround me & my "model". Apparently because she's a known working girl and we were in an area known to be frequented by Johns like myself, I was ticketed for "OTE" offering to engage. I've got photos of this woman from 9 years ago and just happened to see her in the area again and wanted to photograph her again. Our entire session was filmed. No sexual activity took place. In the video she does ask me about money. I say,"Don't discuss money, you'r emessing up the video." I showed the video to my 3 uncles. They confiscated my cameras, called me disgusting and towed my car. Now I plead guilty 10 years ago in an incident that gave me the idea to create my first website. In that instance I was indeed wrong. I tried to give my aunt a ride, she said,"Freeze, you're under arrest." I had offered to engage (OTE). I've lived in California, Florida and Georgia since then. Only had one incident where officers in Miami questioned me (the video was also rolling then). That time, when understood I was filming the woman for my website, LEO told me that it would be best if we took it to a motel.

Bottom-line is here in Detroit, my "model" probably could have been ticketed for public nudity. They just let her go back to the bus stop that she had been standing at. I probably could have been ticketed for filming without a permit outside of an abandoned house. But I definitely should not have been ticketed for "OTE", gotten my vehicle towed and cameras confiscated. To get everything back I'm being forced to pay $1800 plus towing and storage fees. I don't want to say where this occurred because it's not really important. I have no shame of my identity being revealed because creating pornography is my occupation. Everyone that knows me already understands what I do. My 1st amendment rights were violated. The publicity would probably only make me more money. Either way, I'm done with doing anything in streets now. I'm taking it to a studio. I'm a winner and just feel as though I'm being treated as a loser. So, bend over for them and take it in the a$$ or make a big scene? What do you think?

My opinion- lawyer up and fight it. Detroit is pressed for coin. I'm guessing you pay an impound fee for the car and a decent ADA will probably dump the rest, or leave you with a small fine. This just seems like bad publicity for them and it seems they'd want to simply end it.

Just a warning guys, I saw someting on the R Sunday that might be a sting. While strolling the R around 9:30PM near 6 mile I saw Sarah standing on the West side of the street but I kind of thought it was odd because she normally works on the East side of the street right where Amber normally works. Still didn't think much of it till I went two streets down and saw marked Leo sitting with lights off hidden on that side of the street. What do you think?[/quote]From what people have privately reported to me, your Uncle will write the ticket and tow the car just for talking to a known street girl, or a decoy, on a public street. For the majority of people, it is cheaper to pay their standard "settlement offer" regarding the civil forfeiture of the vehicle and also pay the fines and court costs for the ticket. Fines and costs are set at a price point where it is cheaper to admit guilt with the promise that it will not result in a criminal record than to fight the charge. I think the forfeiture action is different and more complex than simply fighting an improper towing charge and impound fee. You do not have the right to a court-appointed attorney for the civil case, so you will likely need to pay as much or more than the settlement offer just to retain an attorney to get the car back, with no guarantee of success. Even if you win the criminal case, it is not automatic that the civil case would be decided in your favor as they have a lower burden of proof in the civil matter. The two matters are handled by different judges in different courthouses.

Of course if you think that you will benefit from the fight, by all means do so. Detroit and Wayne County (which handles the forfeitures) are set up to handle these cases, as it is a money making enterprise. I doubt that they care if they win or lose your case, because they probably wrote several other such tickets on the same day as yours. They come out ahead regardless. Also keep in mind that the judges are elected politicians who, like Uncle, are aware that there have been recent publicized violence against providers in the city, as well as Uncles killed in the not so distant past while conducting these types of operations, so I suspect they will be just as concerned about your First Amendment rights as your Uncle was when it all started.

If I had been getting BJ or FS when they pulled up on me, I'd understand, but I was only shooting photos. According to my lawyer, this probably won't even make it to court. However, I lose either way. Paying a lawyer and spending my time will end up costing me money that I shouldn't have had to pay. Sure, prostitution is illegal, but seizing vehicles and then charging $900, $1800 or $2700 to redeem is absolutely ridiculous.

Even just talking to a known street girl will get you in trouble. If I had been on foot with no car to impound, they probably would've taken me to jail. That's wrong. Had a lot of free time on Sunday so I took an extensive tour of nearly all the active spots. While in past Weeks I have seen many leo about, this time I saw very few. While a number of ladies were seen, most were below what I would pick up (sub-30, 6 or better). I really thought I was going to go home disappointed after 130 miles of driving, but then I saw Amber on the ave, close to the vic. I had made a number of circles around the area and no Leo was about. Picked her up and found out she had a room at the vic. Against my better judgment I took her up on her offer to visit her room.
