Not sure if this girl is a ripoff artist or not, OR if she just saw an opening that was given her and took it? That said, hate to say it but this one appears to be on you. Why did you "throw down a reasonable donation" BEFORE the date was over? One of the key rules of the hobby is never pay upfront. So when you left to go get a hat, why not pick up the donation and take it with you?

Second, just wondering why are you hobbying and not carrying your own supplies? Relying on the girls to have a cover is destine to get you BBBJ, HJ or nothing. You want CFS, bring the cover. Sorry to be so harsh. But unless you are paying north of $300 and going to a 4-star hotel with a well reviewed high class girl, these drug addled girls can not be relied on.

Finally, I wonder how the dude got into the room? Did he dash in when you went to the car or he was already in the room hiding in the bathroom?

So chalk this experience up as paying some tuition to learn a lesson about some of the 'rules' of the hobby. Sounds like you got away with things for a while and finally the hobby bit you in the butt. This is why I pound the table on the rules.

What frustrates me about this is that there is plenty of info on these threads / site to educate guys on the "how to's" of the hobby, but we still see guys making the same mistakes over and over, even guys who have been in the hobby a very long time. Stuff like this doesn't need to happen, especially if guys would read & understand the rules. These girls will look for weakness or an opening, so knowing 'how to" keeps you from a bad experience. Don't give them an opening or opportunity to make you a victim. Even the nicest girl is going to be tempted to take the money and run if you leave it with her and then leave the room. But hey, ignoring or ignorance of the rules IS a choice one makes.

Had that happen to me last year in Georgetown at a motel. I get there and she's "stepped out for a few minutes to get ice. " Wanted to know the model and color of my car (why would she need to know that). I had noticed a patrol car parked on the side of the road just before I pulled into the parking lot. Then a guy pulls in the parking lot wearing his classic cop shades and a car that screamed unmarked LEO. He parked at the opposite end of the lot facing toward me and never got out of the car. One way to be discrete is to never park in front of a girls' room! Do a recon of the area and any place that is in line of sight of the room or motel. That means getting there 10-15 min early to have a look around. Look for signs of LE and ULE. Then park somewhere in line of sight of her room, contact her and watch to see who emerges from the room. Then walk over to the room when the coast is clear. That way, should the room be under surveillance by say a pole camera, you plate isn't visible to some tech eating a donut in his office. IMO, you can never be too cautious. If you feel weird about something, walk away. Far better to err on the side of safety.

For those that are sensitive to cig smoke or other odors, there are a few things one can and should do when setting up dates. First when I contact a girl I ask if she smokes and gauge her reaction. Might mention I don't like the smell. Also others have noted they have SOs with VERY sensitive noses and they can not risk coming home with cig odor on them. Newbies, whether to the hobby or to the site, need to recognize what a great resource is here. The HISTORY here is your friend as many questions one has have already been asked and answered in one form or another. So good advice is to read threads! If you are in a particular area read at least 6-months of threads, so if one is in Dover, I'd read the Dover threads AND the DE Other Areas threads. Also note that there are "how to" guides on the left column of the main page and burried somewhere are rules for internet dating. Point is that this is a risky hobby and one needs knowledge first. Most times when the hobby has bit me in the ass has been when I ignored the rules or thought I knew them all. So your choice on how to operate and learn: book learning here or through mistakes and bad situations. You want to become a statistic or end up on the evening news?

So the site is often like a Huge FAQs. It is all there, if one wants to take the time to read it & learn.

Second unlike Reddit or other sites, because of the nature of things, dudes are less likely to share info straight up to one who has not established some cred here.
