I recall some time ago, one guy on this board was hinting the AMPs make regular pay-offs to LE so they can remain in business and not be hassled by the powers-that-be. If this is the case, doesn't seem logical that the cause of leases not being renewed would be LE pressure, since LE may be profiting by the continued existence of established AMPs. I've always found it curious BTW, that CHM has for years had a police sticker next to the outside door, I think it's for the police athletic league or some such thing?

Many of the older places have that sticker. Has anyone ever played or had a kid who played in the police athletic league? Is it a youth league or a league for the cops themselves? Youd think that there would be fundraisers and such, and the news would talk about said fundraisers and leagues after they happened. That, or, its the same ol cliche as in so many other major US cities. Donate to the police youth athletic league, policemans ball, etc.

Maybe LE or community pressure? Or perhaps positioning to sell the property with acceptable tenants to a future buyer? I'm sure the AMPs pay more than market to rent and arrange to pay extra cash on the side in addition to a low market value lease contract so the landlord can under report actual rent collected. Back when the triplex on Ward was going strong, heard the rent for one of those places was up towards 10k a month. Leads one to wonder how much rent the top places like Happiness or Rejuve currently pay. Maybe once landlords accumulate enough money then they look at changing to lower paying tenants with less controversy.

I wonder what the change of heart of is. Those AMPs have to be better at paying their bills than, say, that church or travel agency (at least, I think there's a church and travel agency in that building). They're probably used to paying a little more, just to keep the property management happy.

Eh, they're probably going to demolish the building and put up a condo.

Another end of an era. 1507 S. King, home to almost a half dozed AMPs in its heyday, will no longer be renewing the leases for all remaining AMPs still in operation. The owner views these types of tenants as undesirable now, although, there are no plans to force them out immediately, the leases will not be renewed upon expiring.

Knowing this, I went today and walked in to Suite 104 on the groundfloor. There's not even a sign out front, LOL. Had a enjoyable session with Yuhi, a cute Asian, who told me she'll be moving shop to Yokohama on Vineyard St. Above Papa John's. She gave me a nice BBBJ while playing with the boys below.
