I've come to expect good things at Star, haven't been disappointed yet. Last week I had this young looking new girl, fresh off the boat. Based off a couple of positive posts I have decided to take the plunge and see what's out there for massage parlous. Checked out Star I have seen mentioned here a couple of times since it seemed to be all good things.

Well folks, FHam finally is going to move forward with getting gutsy. I am not privy to which AMPs are and are not licensed, however, it looks like maybe a long list of them. It will be interesting to see whether the impacted AMP places fight this like Bruce Lee would have, or will quietly bow out like a geisha girl.
I will be looking to expand my theater of amp places to play in, as some of my favs in the area are referenced.

Finally made a visit to star in quincy. Easy to find, quiet location. I think I was the only person there when I arrived. I don't think I got the name of my provider but she had pretty bad teeth. Decent thin, spinner body though. Massage was only ok, she used a lot of oil. Limited tease before the flip. No prostate action at all, which is kind of what I was hoping for. I would like to introduce myself with a report. I have used this forum a great deal and I would like to give back.
I was in metrowest and in need of relief. I decided to skip Framingham given everything going on. I went to JJ in Natick instead. It's been a while since I've been there. Jenny was there before. Called zen spa in q to try to get in and was told they were busy. It was sophia on the phone for anyone whos been there and she told me to go to elegant spa. Its a pretty new place I think. Everyone's level of acceptable risk varies. My take on the potential closures is they will be more of an administrative exercise then of a police presence. Framingham now has a tool to shut down the spas, they don't need to send in an undercover officer to achieve the end result. Of course you could be on the table when the papers come through the front door but I'm not sure that it would have any impact on you. I for one visited one of the Framingham places just the other day and felt comfortable there. Of course to each their own

Just left this place this afternoon. Wanted to try it out. Setup in the back with two rooms. The only girl working was a late 30+ Asian lady who was a 4-5 at best with thick smooth legs. People may have seen the new ad on backpage for place in Sudbury. Called Olive Spa. It's in the same parking lot as Jennifer's place that was shut down last year or earlier this year. Just not the same entrance.
Parking lot was pretty empty, so I was happy. Their inner door was open, so despite ringing the bell, I was able to just open the storm door and walk in. This also means that anyone walking up to the door can see or walk in too.
Greeted by YoYo, who is a younger-looking gal but probably still 30's. Friendly and not bad looking.
I used the bathroom and took the hour, hoping for a decent massage.
They appear to have 2 rooms and 2 girls working, although I didn't see the other one. I did, however, hear her since they were talking through the wall at the outset. I think another customer came in, so I stopped hearing the other one.
Rooms are warm and comfortable, although the face-hole on the table is the smaller version, which I don't like as much. Either my jaw or my eyebrow line has to stay outside the opening, which can start to hurt after a while.
Massage was OK, but not great. She never asked if I wanted hard or medium, and it was definitely medium.
No tease at first, but when she got to the lower half she didn't avoid brushing up against the boys.

I've been meaning to mention that I tried the place at 1 Mountain rd in Burlington a few weekends ago. I wanted a shower and they advertised one. I called and was told to come over. The spa is in an office building. There is an entrance on the main street and one at the back which you access from a large common office parking lot. So there it is easy to be discreet getting into the building. Walking into the spa is another thing since their door is in a hallway shared by other businesses. It being later on a weekend, the building was quiet, but I cannot imagine ringing the buzzer of the locked door while office types are milling about.
Was greeted by a short, average looking, 40-something woman. I forget her name, but I think she said she was Korean. I took the hour (80) and it appeared that we were the only ones in the place, I certainly heard nothing during my stay to make me think otherwise, but she did ask me to keep my voice down. The room is setup with rails on the ceiling so that they can walk on your back. It's not my thing, so I didn't try that. The table shower was meh. No tease from the back and face cloth on johnny to clean the front.
The massage was fine. She's clearly trained. I asked for some stretching, being sore from a previous activity, and got some. Zero tease during the massage and she never got within range so that I could brush against her. She's no dummy though and after the flip and after placing a towel on my junk she asked me where I'd like further massaging. We eventually understood each other and I got a middle of the road HE (40).
I'm unlikely to go back given the market's other options. But for guys looking for the deep walk-on-your-back massage, it might well be worth a try. I think you'd get the therapeutic part for sure.

Here's an other overdue report:
A few Saturday's ago, I had exactly 90 min between commitments so I looked around for a quick option. I was within 5 min of China Massage Spa on Main st in Woburn. I called and asked if they had availability. They said they did and I repeated that I'd be there in 5-10 min.
The place is right on the weird roundabout in Woburn center. It's a very, very busy street. With the entrance door right on main street, a discreet ingress isn't possible, unless they have another door. There are too many pedestrians and cars waiting at the traffic light. Luckily the front door isn't locked so at least you don't have to hang out outdoors. Upon entering, you notice a window on your left that appears to be from a small office in which an older Asian dude was sitting. Management? Security? In any case, not a great way to set the mood.
A chime goes off as you enter, and a tall, late-40's lady with a proper look about her came out of one of the (2?) rooms with a big look of surprise on her face. I told her I was -insert bogus name- and that we had just spoken on the phone. She muttered something in Chinese and went "oh, you already here! She then tried to explain that she had just started with someone and would I consider coming back in an hour, sorry for that.
So, that's that. If anyone knows any reason why I should try that place again, please let me know. Otherwise, I have no intention of repeating.

Tulip has not had much in terms of reports. Haven't been their in ages. Considered an option in a pinch. Candi was friendly, thin probably early fortyish / busty I m guessing she is gone. You will find pretty ladies from time to time rotating through. The names / faces could change by time you visit. You may be luckier or unlucky. Expect a ouch for over up sell and hold your ground. The Old Zen and May were diy at best, and no one ever got HE there. Annie ran a tight ship at one time when it was Mays, and when she was on, the staff were very scared to do something. There is still a Belmont Zen on Trapelo, strictly legit as well, and owned by Mary. She just sold the Waltham place. Belmont always closes early but this new 32 South now stays open pretty late (later than any of its predecessors ever did), as sometimes I see the sign on even at 945 to 10 pm, so a late walk in is available, but none are real lookers, so it's really nothing special, but is convenient. Of all the Waltham places this one probably has the least good looking women but the most menu (funny sort of), but I think very few people want this menu from these ladies, some may even pass on the tug after paying the house fee and try to get out with a cheap ten dollar tip or so. I regret the dough I dropped on Cici and wish I had just passed and walked that time. I have since not gone back. If I hear that they get new prettier ladies I may return. Has anyone seen this Anna? Is their a fourth one and if so, looks? One of the girls said this owner has another store somewhere and they all rotate out. She didn't tell me the store's name. Does anyone know?

I visited Star in Quincy this week and had a session with Linda. Linda is very short and very skinny. I have no idea how old she is, but I'd say anywhere between 25 and 35. She's somewhat pretty and has a nice body.

Went to visit a little Asian friend of mine called Fiona at Crescent Moon Braintree. As always, a very entertaining time. She's a little "kooky" but always a fun time. If you've been there, you'll know what I mean. She loves to hum, sing, and coo while she massages.

I've been wanting to try one of the Thai places for a while, so I took a chance on this place. Called ahead to confirm I availability. Guy on the phone asked if I wanted a girl, boy or ladyboy. I opted for the former. I was told I could come right in. I was there in about ten minutes. The place is on the second floor of a mixed use building on a busy street. It has a large main room with a couple of couches on one side and offices down two walls. When I arrived I was informed no one was available and it would be 30 minutes to get a one hour session. The shop is on the second floor in the back and is fairly large. I visited on a Saturday and the business across the hall was very active (insurance agency maybe? Can't quite recall.) with adults and children milling about. Inside is another large room with offices along the outer walls. They have a stand up shower, which I did not use. I'd gotten a recommendation for Cindy, so that's whom I requested when I called. She more or less fit the description I was given: pretty, slim, friendly. The place seems pretty clean. The rooms are small. They are not very soundproof as I got to listen to some older monger go round and round with mamasan about the shower. Not terribly relaxing. Cindy's massage was okay. Based in part on this hopeful report I swung by this week to see for myself. I was met by Yuyu who is as described, though I wouldn't call her rail thin. Was working in Brookline Monday night. Had the itch, called and tried to make appt, but got answering machine. Called again Tuesday and got an appt. For that afternoon.

Met therapist named Anna, took the 60 house and returned in a flash, was not even finished undressing. I heard other doors opening and closing during the massage and I couldn't help but think about how there was nothing but curtains seperating me.
From that open front door. The massage room had a door, but she did not close it all the way (at least I'd be able to hear if someone else was coming.
As others have reported, there is a menu here, but I won't be returning or recommending this place.

The location and the front door is the MOST visible I have EVER seen, wide open visibility and about 15 feet away from heavy slow moving and / or stopped head turning traffic. Your friends and neighbors and enemies would see you even if you lived towns away because Rt 27 is heavily frequented by so many people. Everyone in the world goes by there; there is only room to park one vehicle, on the main drag; no simple parking alternatives in the area, that do not have nosey tenants; visually, the providers were not pleasant to the eyes, a turn off, although one spoke beyond perfect english. It is surrounded, within a very few feet on all sides, by residential homes and across the street from a high end auto dealership. The only redeeming thing was when I entered, the main room was warm and cozy. No matter who reviews this place, and even if it ever gets stellar reviews from someone, I will not be trying out this place.

I checked out Market St recently and saw Cindy. Like others have said, the language barrier was difficult to navigate. Massage was mechanical and contrary to previous reports, there was no teasing. Visited 1028 Comm Ave. It shares an entrance with a real estate office. Real estate office to the left and the spa straight ahead and downstairs. When you open the door to go downstairs to the spa it mkes a racket as they have loud bells hanging on the inside of the door so everyone in the real estate place looks over. Once downstairs, it feels kind of claustrophobic in the spa (at least to me.) Sound travels very well and you'll hear every customer enter and exit due to the previously mentioned bells. The women work a couple of days a week there then rotate to another sister shop. They do tend to work on the same days of the week. So the two that work on Monday and Tuesday are there every Monday and Tuesday. So if you liked it and its close by for you stop in on different days of the week to see who's working. This weeks visit one to two. Other visit reviewed in Cape Cod board location. One girl there, brought into the first room on the right which is the smaller of all rooms with a door that closes and locks. Always a plus. Shorted on time by 20 min, kept answering the phone a was telling everyone to come in 30 min. Wasn't into my hour 5 min when she told that to the first caller. My reply was 30 we haven't even started yet! (she was still on the phone) she changed it to 40 min. 3 min later phone rings, tell them to come in 30 min (I could tell it was a new caller).

I am on your side with not tipping in the scenario you described and you have put it into context very clearly, and, tipping low when no or crappy services are provided.
At 32 South, they collected an agreed upon tip in advance for agreed upon services and special extras, then, just before we were ready to begin extras, the girl said she was not going to put out for some of the special extras. I made her go out and bring me back and refund me the money for the special extras in advance before we moved forward with the session.
I just went to Eastern Therapy in Newton recently. There were so many things that were bad in so many ways, that it was ridiculous. It started when I walked in and saw the provider, she has a pock marked puffy and bloated face. The room was frigid. The oil she poured on me was freezing, from the room being so cold. Although I have gotten jack hammer hjs before, the whole massage was made up of jack hammering my body. My body kept being viciously rocked up and down and back and forth. She constantly kept putting on oil. The massage handling pace was way too fast, there was nothing relaxing about it. The massage pressure didn't even feel good. The hot towel was tepid. She shorted me on change. I left 10 bucks because I got a full hour, otherwise, it may have been lower. She ended up being just as frigid and cold as the room was when I entered.
Guys who leave a high tip for severely lacking service do the overall monger community as much of a disservice, as the ones who way over tip for the level of services provided. IMHO everyone should feel free to tip as they deem "appropriate", but, they should have the guts to tip zero to 10 bucks when services come up significantly short of what is reasonable and customary. I am not a hardass about it, but, I just do not get it when a man who is not a newbie says that he is uncomfortable to not give a full tip and gets walked on and intimidated by a less than mediocre provider. Makes me wonder if they would leave a big tip for a waitress who served their bacon, eggs, homefries, and toast cold, and never brought them any coffee.

Found myself near Wilmington, so I called "Thai Wellness Spa" and was told to come over, which I did.
The Spa is in a multi-tenant building with businesses on the first floor and apartments on the 2nd. You can park on the street. There is also parking behind the building, but that may be reserved for tenants, I didn't look to hard for signs. It's not the most private ingress / egress, but not the worst either.
The layout of the Spa is decently private, with a moveable partition that separates the lobby from the inner sanctum. I was met by a 30 something woman with a plump, soft body but a nice smile. Not a looker by any stretch. On my way to the restroom I saw the other provider: an older lady, but nicely done up, and who looked more vivacious.
I elected for the table shower. The room has a proper table, like you find at TCM in Tewksbury. I'm happy to report that my backside was thoroughly washed, but nothing more direct than that.
The room was nicely organized. It even featured a working sink. The massage had a great delivery comprised of long, slow strokes. But I would bet the girl received no formal training. Oh, both ladies are Chinese, not Thai. And the massage was likewise typical Chinese with none of the Thai stretches. All in all, agreeable, but not memorable from a therapeutic standpoint. As she was dressed in several tight layers that looked impenetrable, I didn't reach out to her for more than basic signaling. The ending was OK. There is a fine line between managing expectations and exceeding them.If I know the lady will be working at the place and I know that she'll recognize and remember me, then sure, I'll tip a little for better service.
But there are a few problems with that:
1) do these ladies keep that good track of all of their visitors? The next time I show up, do I expect the lady (assuming she's the one who massages me) to recognize me and think to herself, "Oh, yeah, he tipped me an extra $10, so I'm going to treat him extra nice. " Not sure how much of the tip they even get to keep, and how much goes to the house. Okay, if I tip a lady an extra $100, she'll remember me (and remember me as a fool). But I don't think an extra tip of $10 is going to make that much of an impression.
2) will she even still be working there the next time that I visit?
3) let's be honest here: if there are customers backed up after me. . . If the place has overbooked. . . The lady is going to try to move me out of there as fast as possible. The $10 tip is not going to be enough to motivate her to ignore the mamasan's urging to move the session along as fast as possible.
If I know I'm going to be returning to an AMP 3 x a week over the course of a month, an extra $10 will matter, sure. If I'm stopping by once a week at most? The $10 might lead me to believe that I'm being treated a little better than I otherwise might have been, but there's really no scientific way to test that, is there? But whatever makes any of us feel like we're special or memorable. . . Well, whatever works, I guess.

Saw only a couple reviews while back not much, dropped in place is really dark.
