I'm very familiar with this guy and case.

He forced these girls to work for him for free with the threat if revoking their bonds if they did not, and he wasn't just targeting prostitutes.
He also had male offenders, mostly drug dealers, send him victims, along with the attorneys he was working with.
I have no knowledge first hand, but I'm told from people I believe that he wasn't all that interested in date of birth.
This guy was no hero.

Posts: 2048Looks like they finally got him.
There's a very well known bondsman here in Orlando that was notorious for getting girls out of jail in exchange for pleasantries. He's been doing it for years. He would even threaten to revokes girls' bonds if they didn't come through with the goods for him. I saw on the news last night that they finally busted him for it. He's facing racketeering and human trafficking charges.
This blows for us because that means less girls around, because they can't work off their bail money.

Crazy thing is, he ran unopposed so he didn't really need a stunt for that. But I think he's also trying to be a Grady Judd lite so there's that.

Posts: 917Election year busts, Tampa area
Sheriff's are elected just like any other politician. They need to get on TV like they are making a difference. 125 people got busted for prostitution in Tampa. It is just a political rally for the sheriff nothing more.

Posts: 204I believe one of three things will happen. The shops will get their business records in order to comply with the law. They will ditch the brick and mortar massage locations in favor of hotels or private residences which has already happened in some parts of the country. They will move to another state with less restrictions.

Most shops were either unaware of the law or thought it would not be enforced, now they know. These are not ladies illegally crossing the border, they live in the USA or have come in on Visa for a selected period. Many fly regularly and you can't fly without an I'd.
Seems this will sort out but may take a few months. I don't think the court system has much capacity or patience for "business records" violations. Arresting people for such things is a complete waste of resources. It seems there are way more pressing crimes happening every day that should be the focus. I think they should just make this all legal, regulate and tax it but FL has way too many bible thumpers so that's not likely.

Posts: 27HB 197 new law and escorts
So a statement. This fall Florida will legalize recreational marijuana. Thus, making legal to be intoxicated from drinking and then bake yourself and get out on the road and kill someone. So, double the chance. While law enforcement goes after escorts and AMP's who do no harm to society in general. The "hobby" is beneficial in many ways health wise as it brings down stress, allows a connection even for a moment, exercise / activity to name a few.

My guess is that they will systematically go after the high volume businesses. We will be left with the smaller low volume locations with 1-2 employees.

Guess Naples truly is a retirement city.
