If a LEO goes to an establishment, and is offered any thing besides a legit massage for money, that is all that is needed to get a warrant, it is more than enough to arrest the provider on the spot. There is prevailing case law regarding it. Does not matter that it is public property or not, the majority of crimes are committed on private property. The the does not file lawsuits, they file criminal charges, and l guess that you have not heard about translators, that it is easy for visa's to get revoked. I don't know where your knowledge came from, but it is not from any lawyer or anyone who has been involved in law enforcement. I saw many places get shut down in another state because of one workers offing to one LEO and them closing and reopening just to set the place uop as a sting operation.

Wait, all I ever do is go in for a "legit massage", but maybe my hands start roaming and before I know it, I'm committing sexual harassment. Could arrest me right on the spot. I too have been to places that have been raided and shut down. In the one particular case that stays in my mind, the problem wasn't so much the shop, but rather the women she kept in an apartment and the cash the operation generated. The proprietor went away for several years and had a large monetary forfeiture. Not so much for the sexual favors at the shop, which were incidental, but rather the human trafficking. (Which I can't condone).

They found no human trafficking and that the officers violated the law. I would be hard pressed to convict anyone of engaging in a sexual act with an adult in private. Let's get this straight, you go into a private business and mutually agree with an adult not under duress or coercion that you'd like to exchange money for some sexual act. You expect to take this to a jury who are likely to have atleast one person like me on it who says "WTF?" and in the Flagstaff case had the case actually gone to a jury, it could have easily been seen as police entrapment. (which is also illegal).

If they wanted to, I have no doubt they could bust these places. But in a lot of cases, they are probably the least problematic businesses in the strip mall. I'd rather have an AMP than a liquor store, smoke store, pawn shop, coin laundry, plasma donation place, or a bar in a strip mall near me.

I guess they could re-open the place as part of a sting, but as soon as Officer Tool shows up to massage me, I'm GTFO.

If I'm on the vice squad and I am tasked with cleaning up prostitution, I'm not going to a spa, I'm going to 27th Ave. I want the women and their pimps out of the neighborhood. I want the drug trade that goes along with it as well.

But if the police show up, I'm there for a massage and as I paid for the hour. Y'all need to GTFO.

Drove by spring after going to fry's today and it's dark again. Why open for one day (on Easter of all days too, can't imagine they would be very busy) and then back to being closed?

I called them at 930 this morning and they said they were open and Angel and Mandy were working.

Rubmaps is showing that Spring, Aloha, Paradise, and Tops as being closed.

That's already been mentioned here. And as also previously mentioned, Rubmaps just reports what people tell them. These places are closed. So people are reporting them to Rubmaps as closed. It's not really any different than people reporting here that they are currently closed. It doesn't necessarily mean anything one way or the other as to whether they are temporarily closed or permanently closed.

You are overthinking it. Let's say they raid the place while you are being "serviced". You are simply there for a massage, which is true. You won't answer any of their questions without an attorney present and ask if you are free to go. If they say no, keep your mouth shut and retain an attorney.

Great post. The only time the busts really matter now is if they have a financial crimes investigation and get the owners for money laundering with huge chunks of cash stashed in residential properties that get raided. In general it's actually ridiculous for them to even bother as our hobby and business is far from a true crime.

1. The police are on private property.

2. All activities are between CONSENTING adults. If there were any human trafficking involved, they'd be gone by now.

3. None of the participants are helpful in a lawsuit, the DA likes to win lawsuits. Your "victim" is someone with limited English proficiency who enjoys making large amounts of cash and is specifically there to achieve that. The customer is there to be entertained and provide said payment. Deep stuff, I know.

4. In the event that the police go in, have sex, and then use it to justify raiding the place. Well, that didn't go so well in court last year in Flagstaff where they violated:

ARS 13-1412: "A peace officer commits unlawful sexual conduct by knowingly engaging in sexual contact. With any person who is in the officer's custody or. The subject of an investigation. ".

Which leaves me with this thought.

Which leaves me with this thought. The activity is in private, between consenting adults, entrapment is likely to get thrown out of court, and as long as the place hasn't become a public nuisance with loitering and / or drug use. What have they got?

If I'm the police and I want to bust people for prostitution, I set up a sting in a low rent hotel. Your date is a cop, the location is controlled by the jurisdiction, there are hidden cameras to collect evidence like you saying "I want to fuck. ", and you literally have no rights. I don't know about your area, but I can't get police to show up for porch pirates, petty theft, speeding, loud vehicles, and probably other things the police are just too busy to do anything about. Adults having sex in private is low on the priority list unless someone is actively complaining. Let's help keep it that way.
