Probably scammers and I agree why would you use your number? Look at the ad you can pretty much tell they are not right. Things that say don't contact: ask about my friend, must buy content, deposit required.

Dude, any time you get a call from some unrecognized number asking you to engage in some illegal activity you better bet your ass its either the pigs trying to hem you up somehow or someone trying to scam you in such a way that you have no recourse because you did something illegal.

If you don't know who it is or can't verify it or how they got your info to contact you then you absolutely must either ignore and delete or proceed with extreme caution. Mostly ignore and delete. Remember the cat and curiousity.

Just got a text message from a random number asking to meet up. I'm not posting anything too specific, but here we go:

- The sender kept copy-pasting my phone number into each text they sent.

- The sender's phone number doesn't show in my text or call history.

- The sender asked off the bat what "services" I'd be interested in, and then sent a link to an ad for a girl I've never seen before (TGTBT).

Spit-balling here, but I don't think it's so much trying to get me in a sting, but get me to post the ad so they associate my username with my phone number.

I doubt it's LEO, that's called entrapment. Though those have picked up for me too. But to be fair, I suspect that some of the ads we respond to are simply means of gathering numbers for these types of scams. Whether it's blackmail or some sort of hookup I'd scam, who knows.
