I use a virtual card from giftcards.com all the time, but no VPN. Once I had my account suspended when I tried to make a payment and I contacted customer service and they removed the suspension and then it went through fine.

It's been about a year for me but I'm thinking of getting back into it. In any case though, I've always used a Vanilla Mastercard you can get at Walgreens and I've never had any issues with rejected payments or banned accounts.
