Those penalties from Florida Statutes section 796.07 are all accurate, both start as misdemeanors, though the john starts one level higher than the provider, and then can become felony offenses with prior convictions. Making it even worse for the john, any offense that includes the use of a vehicle may lead to a 60 day immobilization of that vehicle. There is also a mandatory fine of $5,000. Additionally, on a second or subsequent conviction, there is a mandatory minimum requirement of 10 days in jail.
